    摘要: A position indicator includes a chassis, a core body, and a variable capacitance capacitor. The capacitor includes a dielectric, a first conductor disposed on a first surface of the dielectric, a first terminal coupled to the first conductor, forming a first electrode, a second conductor disposed on a second surface of the dielectric, an electrically-conductive member disposed opposed to the second surface of the dielectric, a second terminal that forms a second electrode of the capacitor with the second conductor and the electrically-conductive member, and an elastic member. In operation, the elastic member applies a biasing force to separate the electrically-conductive member from the second surface of the dielectric. The electrically-conductive member contacts the second conductor on the second surface of the dielectric in response to the force applied through the core body, and, in response to the contact, a capacitance of the capacitor changes to a determined capacitance.

The holder includes a core body engaging portion configured to hold a core body, a component disposing portion in which one or more pressure-sensitive components are disposed in an axial direction so as to receive a pressing pressure applied to the core body, and a printed wiring board mounting portion for being engaged with and mounting a printed wiring board with a longitudinal direction of the printed wiring board as the axial direction. The core body and the one or more pressure-sensitive components are held by the core body engaging portion and the component disposing portion in such a way that their central positions are aligned with each other in a predetermined position.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a position indicator that includes: an enclosure forming a hollow and rod-shaped tubular body; a substrate disposed in the hollow portion of the enclosure and having a circuit configured to process signals exchanged with a position detection sensor; and a film-shaped capacitor having first and second conductor layers. The first conductor layer is formed on one side of a sheet-shaped dielectric, and the second conductor layer is formed on another side of the sheet-shaped dielectric and is opposed to the first conductor layer with the sheet-shaped dielectric provided therebetween. The film-shaped capacitor is fastened to the substrate in such a manner as to make up part of said circuit, and the size of an area over which the first and second conductor layers of the film-shaped capacitor are opposed is changeable by changing the size of the film-shaped capacitor to specify a constant for said circuit.

    摘要: A pen type coordinate indicator for a position input device is provided, which is capable of widening a detection range of a pressing pressure (pen pressure) while preventing erroneous (false) detection. A coil spring (i.e., a first elastic body) and a silicon rubber (i.e., a second elastic body) are interposed between an end surface of a first ferrite core, around which a coil connected to a resonance circuit is wound, and an end surface of a second ferrite core, within the pen. The first and second elastic bodies operate to controllably change (narrow) the distance between the two end faces in accordance with the pressure applied to the pen tip. As a result, an inductance value of the coil wound around the first ferrite core is controllably changed and thus a phase (frequency) of an electric wave transmitted from the resonance circuit to a position detector is controllably changed.

The plural parts are arranged within a hollow portion of a cylindrical holder portion housed within the casing. The holder portion has an opening portion in a side circumferential surface thereof. The opening portion is opened in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction. At least one of the parts is/are housed into the hollow portion through the opening portion. The holder portion includes a locking portion configured to prevent the at least one of the parts from falling out through the opening portion.
