    Abstract: A control knob assembly is disclosed that may be generally used for the quick zeroing adjustment of a dial thereof. A control knob assembly includes a housing with a shaft rotatably supported therein. A ring is coupled to the shaft in such a way that rotation of the ring causes rotation of the shaft. The ring has a plurality of holes distributed therearound and extending longitudinally therethrough from a first side thereof to a second side thereof. A knob is disposed about the shaft adjacent the first side of the ring. The knob is rotatable about the shaft and slidable therealong. A spring is coupled between the knob and ring for biasing the knob towards the ring. A pin extends from the knob to engage one of the holes at the first side of the ring when the spring is free to bias the knob towards the ring. A spring-loaded detent mechanism mounted in the housing engages one of the holes from the second side of the ring. The detent mechanism permits rotation of the ring relative to the housing when the spring is free to bias the knob towards the ring. However, the detent mechanism inhibits rotation of the ring relative to the housing when the spring's bias is overcome by a pulling force that causes the pin to disengage from one of the holes at the first side of the ring.

    Abstract: A rotary engine is provided to produce torque. The engine includes a planar housing, an elongated rotor, a pair of double-concave blades, fore and aft cover plates, and a gear box. The housing has a circular center cavity, and a pair of circular lateral cavities overlapping the center cavity and disposed along a longitudinal axis. The rotor is disposed on a rotor shaft along a rotation axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis within the center cavity. The blades flank the rotor and are disposed within their corresponding lateral cavity and turn on corresponding blade shafts parallel to the rotor shaft. The blades flank the rotor disposed within their corresponding lateral cavity and turn on corresponding blade shafts parallel to the rotor shaft. The fore and aft cover plates flank the housing along the rotation axis to cover the center and lateral cavities. The blades turn opposite to the rotor.

    Abstract: A resettable trigger mechanism has an activating rod with a first portion slidably mounted in a housing and a second portion extending from the housing. The activating rod has a notch formed in its first portion. A trigger is coupled to the activating rod's second portion. A first spring coupled between the activating rod and housing biases the second portion towards the housing. A reset rod has a first section slidably mounted in the housing and a second section extending from the housing. The reset rod has a cutout portion formed in its first section for slidingly receiving therethrough the first portion of the activating rod. A second spring is coupled between the reset rod and housing for biasing the second section away from the housing. When the trigger is activated, the activating rod is pulled from the housing to align its notch with the cutout portion of the reset rod so that the reset rod can move under the force of the second spring until the reset rod's cutout portion engages the notch. When the trigger is to be reset, the reset rod is pushed towards the housing to disengage the cutout portion from the notch so that the activating rod is free to move under the force of the first spring thereby allowing the trigger to return to its ready-to-fire position.

    Abstract: A method is provided for supplying to an operator a video stream from at least one of a plurality of cameras that capture images. This includes connecting the cameras and a computer to a network and recording the images from each camera into a corresponding buffer accessible to the computer. Upon detecting a triggering event associated with an event-recording camera, further operations include responding to the triggering event by depositing the images from an event-recording buffer corresponding to said event-recording camera as the video stream into a reviewable memory, and retrieving the video stream from the reviewable memory for the operator. The operator is preferably one of a commander using a command workstation, a lethal response operator using a lethal workstation, and a non-lethal response operator using a non-lethal workstation. Also preferably, each workstation is assigned as one of a primary brain and failover brains. The primary brain functions to execute software and issue control signals, so that if the primary brain fails, one of the failover brains assumes the functions, that failover brain being selected in a sequential order.

    Abstract: An alignment and locking system includes a dovetailed male portion having partial female threads formed in a surface thereof, a housing having a dovetailed notch for slidingly receiving the male portion, and a screw assembly coupled to the housing. The screw assembly includes a rotatable rod having a threaded region that partially extends into the housing's notch. The threaded region includes a partially threaded portion and a fully threaded portion.
