    摘要: The present invention is directed to a method and system for automatically and continuously updating a printer driver configuration. A first computer program residing on a controller, which acts to monitor the printer configuration, is activated. The printer configuration is read from the controller configuration and updates the DEVMODE data. The detection of a change in any attribute of the printer configuration causes a second program to activate. DEVMODE data is updated using a data layout described in an XML file. The data layout in the XML file will be packaged with the controller during building, as well as being available on a CD-ROM or other portable device, or stored on a central location and accessed over a computer network for the updating printer drivers on the controller when new versions are released. The second program retrieves current printer configuration data using SNMP communications and writes this data to the registry. The registry is then updated by the second computer program used to account for the changes detected by the first computer program in accordance with the data layout of the XML file.

The system and method comprise acquiring print job data representative of a desired print job, which print job data is comprised of a PDL format associated with a selected printer device and selectively storing the print job data in a selected storage location or cabinet in a storage medium. The system and method also comprises selectively communicating the print job data to generate an image for display in an associated display device and selectively communicating the print job data to the selected printer device to obtain a printout thereof.

    摘要: A system and method for setting device module loading sequence. The hardware configuration of the document processing device is scanned and relevant configuration information is collected. Following collection of the relevant configuration information, document processing device system settings are then scanned. The current hardware configuration and the system settings are then input as module loading parameters. Module dependencies and module priorities are then gathered from the system settings and used to generate a module loading sequence table. The modules designated by the table are then loaded in accordance with the generated sequence. When a module loading error is detected, the error is recorded in an error log, viewable by a system administrator, and analyzed by an error handling module. The error handling module then determines whether to halt all loading progress until the error is resolved, or alternatively continues with the module loading while simultaneously generating error log data. Once all modules are loaded in accordance with the generated sequence table, the document processing device is ready to receive and process document processing requests.

    摘要: A system and method for sharing updated document templates. A user first selects whether to request a desired document processing operation involving one or more stored scan templates or to modify one of the stored templates. The document scan templates are stored on an associated storage, with each scan template including schema data. The schema data represents attributes associated with the corresponding template. When the user requests a document processing operation, a list of templates associated with the operation are retrieved and displayed to the user. The user then selects the desired template, inputs modification data, and the document processing device performs the selected operation on the updated template. When the user elects to modify a template, the user opens the schema associated therewith, inputs the modifications, and stores the template in the template storage for use by devices on the network. Creation of a new template requires the user to input schema data, attributes and classes, and then save the new template in the template storage.
