Abstract: In a control device for a switched reluctance motor, a voltage drop control is executed in which a voltage dropped to be lower than a voltage applied in a case where the switched reluctance motor is driven in a high-load region is applied to the switched reluctance motor, in a case where the switched reluctance motor is driven in a low-load region. The low-load region is a lower load region than the high-load region.

Abstract: An electronic control unit switches a switching circuit such that a switched reluctance motor has a first winding pattern, when, with respect to a boundary dividing a driving range of the switched reluctance motor into two ranges, a torque and a rotational speed of the switched reluctance motor that are determined according to an applied voltage are located in the first range on the low load side. The electronic control unit switches the switching circuit such that the switched reluctance motor has a second winding pattern, when the torque and the rotational speed of the switched reluctance motor are located in a second range different from the first range.

Abstract: A vehicular control apparatus that includes a switched reluctance motor and an electronic control unit is provided. The switched reluctance motor has a rotor and a stator and is mounted as a travel drive source in a vehicle. The electronic control unit executes current control of the switched reluctance motor. The electronic control unit executes first current control for causing the rotor to rotate in a reverse direction from a rotational direction in which the vehicle is started in the case where the vehicle is not started even when the switched reluctance motor outputs maximum torque within an allowable range, and executes control for causing the rotor to rotate in the rotational direction in which the vehicle is started after the rotor rotates in the reverse direction by the first current control to a rotation position at which torque for enabling a start of the vehicle can be output.

Abstract: A control device for a switched reluctance motor includes an inverter having a switching circuit that switches a magnetic pole to provide a first winding pattern or a second winding pattern. With respect to a boundary dividing a driving range of the switched reluctance motor into two ranges, the control device performs switching to the first winding pattern when the torque and the rotational speed are located in the first range on the low load side, performs switching to the second winding pattern when the torque and the rotational speed are located in the second range, allows switching of the magnetic pole in a case where a current of the phase whose magnetic pole is to be switched among the three-phase coils is 0, and prohibits switching of the magnetic pole in a case where the current of the phase whose magnetic pole is to be switched is not 0.
