    Abstract: In an example, a method is implemented in a radar system. The method may include transmitting, via transmission channels, a frame of chirps, the chirps transmitted having a programmed frequency offset that is a function of a transmission channel of the transmission channels that is transmitting the frame of chirps, receiving, via a receive channel, a frame of reflected chirps, the reflected chirps comprising the chirps reflected by an object within a field of view of the radar system, and determining a Doppler domain representation of the frame of reflected chirps having a Doppler domain spectrum that includes multiple spectrum bands, the object represented in at least a portion of the spectrum bands based on the reflected chirps, wherein the programmed frequency is configured to cause the Doppler domain spectrum to include a number of spectrum bands greater than the number of transmission channels.

    Abstract: Radar systems, radar-implementation methods, and non-transitory processor-readable mediums storing processor-executable instructions for implementing radar chirp generation and processing are provided. An example set of processor-executable instructions includes instructions for configuring each of a plurality of transmitters to transmit each chirp of a set of chirps with a specific spin frequency that is different for each transmitter, in which the specific spin frequency is a function of an index value identifying the corresponding transmitter, and a number of the plurality of transmitters; and determining, in a frequency domain, a Doppler representation based on reflected signals that are reflected from one or more objects contacted by one or more chirps of the transmitted sets of chirps, in which the Doppler representation includes multiple spectrum bands including one or more empty spectrum bands determined by the specific spin frequency function, wherein none of the object(s) appear(s) in any of the empty spectrum band(s).

    Abstract: A system includes a shift register to store data samples, where the shift register includes a cell under test (CUT), a left guard cell, a right guard cell, a left window, and a right window. The system includes two sets of comparators to compare incoming data samples with data samples in the left window and the right window to compute ranks of the incoming data samples. The system includes a sorted index array to store a rank of the data samples in the shift register. The system includes a selector to select a Kth smallest index from the sorted index array and its corresponding data sample from the shift register. The system includes a target comparator, where the first comparator input receives a data sample from the CUT and the second comparator input receives a Kth smallest data sample, and the comparator output indicates a CFAR target detection.

    Abstract: An apparatus comprises a transmitter that transmits a signal, a receiver, a multiplier, and a signal shifter included in one of the transmitter and the receiver. The receiver receives a reflected signal comprising an interferer signal with at least one of an amplitude noise or a phase noise and generates a baseband signal comprising a real portion and an imaginary portion. The multiplier multiplies the imaginary portion by a value β chosen based on a power difference α between the amplitude noise and the phase noise, resulting in a modified baseband signal. The signal shifter shifts the interferer signal and the modified baseband signal. An estimator can process the reflected signal and estimate a frequency and phase of the interferer signal for the signal shifter. The value β can be represented as: β = 1 α 2 where α represents the power difference between the amplitude noise and the phase noise.
