Abstract: A method includes predicting the number of users of user terminals gathering in a target area within a region on a first day. The method includes collecting records relating to user terminals positioning data, and partitioning a portion of the region of interest into an intermediate area surrounding the target area and an external area which surrounds the intermediate area. For each observation time slot, a first term indicative of the number of user terminals moving from the external area to the intermediate area are calculated during said observation time slot based, a second term indicative of user terminals which, during a reference day preceding the first day, moved from the external area to the intermediate area is calculated, and the difference between said first term and said second term is calculated. The number of new user terminals which entering the target area is predicted based on the difference.

Abstract: A method positioning user equipment including a camera for acquiring digital images, including: defining a three-dimensional model of an environment through points defined by a set of coordinates and a color information; the user equipment acquiring a query image by capturing, by the camera, a portion of the environment; estimating an initial camera parameters configuration of the camera; evaluating a similarity between the query image and an initial three-dimensional image obtained from the three-dimensional model of the environment as seen by a virtual camera having the initial camera parameters configuration; modifying a camera parameters configuration of the virtual camera to increase similarity between the initial three-dimensional image and the query image up to a predetermined value; and generating an additional three-dimensional image based on the three-dimensional model of the environment, obtained from the three-dimensional model of the environment as seen by a modified virtual camera having the modified camera parameters configuration.

Abstract: A method of identifying a position of a user equipment within a wireless communication network includes: a) providing expected radio signal strengths produced by at least one radio communication station on each of plural elementary area elements in which a geographic area is subdivided; b) defining an initial attenuation experienced by the radio signals to the user equipment whose position is to be identified; c) obtaining measured radio signal strength measurements of the radio signals provided to the user equipment whose position is to be identified; d) determining an estimated elementary area element corresponding to the position of the user equipment whose position is to be identified based on the expected radio signal strengths, the initial attenuation and the radio signal strength measurements, and e) computing a final attenuation based on the estimated elementary area element. The operations b)-e) are iterated at least twice.
