    Abstract: Hand guards for firearms and related methods are provided. In one example, a hand guard for a firearm includes an elongated tubular housing having a lumen extending between opposite ends thereof. A hand guard mounting assembly is coupled concentrically to a rear end portion of the housing. The mounting assembly includes a pair of opposing transverse surfaces respectively disposed on opposite sides of a transverse flange located on a front end of a barrel nut extending forwardly from a receiver of the firearm. At least one of the transverse surfaces is longitudinally moveable toward the other transverse surface. A mechanism adjustably urges the at least one transverse surface longitudinally toward the other transverse surface so as to clamp the flange firmly between the two transverse surfaces and such that the barrel of the firearm is disposed concentrically within the lumen of the housing.

    Abstract: Hand guards for firearms and related methods are provided. In one example, a hand guard includes an elongated housing. The elongated housing comprises a lumen configured to substantially surround an intermediate portion of a barrel of a firearm, a lateral side wall, and a pair of inclined side walls respectively disposed on opposite sides of and inclined relative to the lateral side wall. Each of the inclined side walls comprises an elongated slot, wherein the elongated slots of the inclined side walls define a pair of angulated faces of a rail adapted to receive an accessory to be mounted thereon. For example, the rail may be a reduced-height Picatinny rail provided by the lateral side wall of the housing.

    Abstract: A rail mountable device may be provided that is configured to be secured firmly to a rail. In one example, the rail mountable device may include a rail clamp that includes a screw, a screw receptacle, a first ramp member coupled to the screw, and a second ramp member coupled to the screw receptacle and configured to move relative to the screw receptacle. Additionally, the rail mountable device may include a removeable battery pack with a battery indicator. Furthermore, the rail mountable device may include a plurality of switches disposed on either side of the rail mountable device. The switches may be coupled to a bracket and a mode of the rail mountable device may be operated through manipulation of the switches. Additional embodiments and related methods are provided.
