摘要: A ram drive assembly for a can bodymaker includes a mounting assembly and a number of forming assemblies supported thereon, each including: a stationary assembly, having a die pack and a domer, and a moving assembly having a ram assembly and a cam follower assembly. The die pack defines a passage having a proximal and a distal end, with the domer disposed adjacent the distal end. The ram assembly includes a ram body having a proximal and a distal end, with the cam follower assembly coupled to the proximal end. The ram body is structured to reciprocate through the passage between a retracted and an extended position. The ram drive assembly includes: a cam having a body with a number of surfaces for engaging each cam follower assembly; and a motor having a rotating output shaft operatively coupled to the cam body for rotating the cam body.

摘要: A can bodymaker is provided. The can bodymaker includes two rams that travel over a generally vertical path. The bodymaker includes a housing assembly and an operating mechanism structured to move a number of ram assemblies over a vertical path of travel. The operating mechanism includes a crankshaft, a motor, a link assembly, and a number of ram assemblies. The crankshaft is rotatably coupled to the housing assembly and includes a number of pairs of crankpin journals. The motor is operatively coupled to said crankshaft. The link assembly includes a number of links. Each ram assembly includes an elongated ram body, each ram body structured to move over a ram path. Links from said link assembly extend between, and movably couple, each crankshaft crankpin journal to a ram body.

摘要: A redraw assembly for a can bodymaker includes a frame and a hold down piston moveably coupled to the frame so as to be slidable with respect thereto. The hold down piston is structured to have a blank holder coupled thereto for engaging and securing a cup adjacent an opening of a die pack. The redraw assembly further includes a cam disk engaged with the hold down piston and moveably coupled to the frame so as to be readily rotatable about a rotation axis and a motor having an output shaft coupled to the cam disk. The motor is structured to selectively rotate the cam disk about the rotation axis. The hold down piston is movable among a first positioning and a second positioning dependent on the positioning of the cam disk.
