Abstract: Various embodiments of the teachings herein include a corona shielding tape for further processing to give an insulation system comprising an impregnated winding with potential control via outer corona shielding “AGS” and/or internal potential controller “IPS” and/or terminal corona shielding “EGS”, the insulation system being producible by impregnating the winding with an anhydride-free and resin-based impregnating agent at 45-85° C. and under reduced pressure. The corona shielding tape may include: a carrier tape; an electrically conductive and/or partly conductive filler in a polymer matrix; and a tape accelerator suitable for curing and/or gelation of the impregnating agent. The polymer matrix contains at least one polyvinylalcohol and/or a polyvinylalcohol copolymer. The accelerator is selected from the group consisting of: superacids and superacid salts suitable for acceleration of a cationic homopolymerization of the resin-based anhydride-free impregnating agent.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to insulation. Teachings thereof may be embodied in a solid insulation material, especially in tape form, the use thereof in a vacuum impregnation process and to an insulation system produced therewith, and also an electrical machine comprising the insulation system, especially for the medium- and high-voltage sector, namely for medium- and high-voltage machines, especially rotating electrical machines in the medium- and high-voltage sector, and to semifinished products for electrical switchgear. For example a solid insulation material with an anhydride-free impregnating agent may include: a carrier; a barrier material; a curing catalyst; and a tape adhesive. The curing catalyst and the tape adhesive are inert toward one another but react under the conditions of a vacuum impregnation process if combined with an anhydride-free impregnating agent having gelation times of 1 h to 15 h at impregnation temperature. The tape adhesive is free of oxirane groups and includes at least two free hydroxyl groups.

Abstract: Various embodiments of the teachings herein include a solid insulation material based on a resin containing epoxy groups for production of an anhydride-free insulation system by means of VPI. The material comprises: an anhydride-free curing catalyst; and an additive for improving distribution of the anhydride-free curing catalyst, wherein the additive comprises a phenyl carboxylate. The additive is present in an amount based on the epoxy groups in the resin containing epoxy groups which is present in the impregnating agent of at least 0.1% in stoichiometric terms.

A catalyst, provided to accelerate the cationic polymerisation of said reactive resin mixture, is also added to said slot sealing compound (7).
