    摘要: A sheet identifying apparatus includes: an excitation coil disposed upstream in a passage through which a sheet inserted into an input port passes and wound on an outer periphery of the passage; a first output unit that detects a magnetization variation of a magnetic element due to the excited excitation coil when the sheet having the magnetic element passes through a region of the passage where the excitation coil is disposed in a state where an AC current is applied to the excitation coil and that outputs a first detection signal when the magnetization variation is detected; and a second output unit that detects that the sheet passes through a region downstream in the passage on the basis of a characteristic of the sheet without using the magnetic element and that outputs a second detection signal when detecting that the sheet passes through the region.

    摘要: When a user who has a magnetic substance attached paper enters a gate which generates a magnetic field, steep magnetization reversal is produced in the magnetic substance by the magnetic field. As a result, pulse current flows into a detection coil provided in the gate, and a generated waveform signal indicating a characteristic transient response is output to a terminal device. The terminal device calculates correlation coefficients of this waveform and a plurality of stored reference waveforms, additionally calculates an average of the calculated correlation coefficients, and determines whether or not the average is equal to or more than a threshold. When the average is equal to or more than the threshold, the terminal device instructs an imaging device to image a user. When the average is below the threshold, the imaging device is not allowed to image the user.

The exciting coil forms an alternating magnetic field in a passageway at an entrance to or an exit from an area where taking out or bringing in of an object is controlled. The detecting coil detects a change of the magnetic field when magnetic substance contained in the object generating a large Barkhausen effect causes magnetic inversion in the alternating magnetic field. The exciting coil is provided above the passageway and has a winding wire wound along a horizontal plane. The detecting coil is provided in a side part of the passageway and has a winding wire wound along a vertical plane which is parallel to a passing direction of the passageway.
