摘要： An apparatus and method for sealing a joint between a display and a housing of a hand held computer terminal is provided. The apparatus comprises a display frame. The display frame comprises a display front, a display back, and display sides. The front of the display frame comprises a recessed portion and a non-recessed portion. The recessed portion is configured to accept insertion of the display. The non-recessed portion defines at least a portion of the perimeter of the recessed portion. Fastening holes can be positioned outside the perimeter of the recessed portion. The display frame is configured to tighten to the housing and to compress the display between the display frame and the housing. The method comprises providing a display frame, assembling a display assembly, inserting the display assembly into the housing, and compressing the display between the display frame and the housing.

摘要： A portable data terminal includes a housing comprising an upper surface, a side surface, a front surface, and a rear surface. A touch screen including a display and a touch sensitive overlay is coupled to the upper surface of the housing. The portable data terminal further includes a stylus for activating the touch screen. The stylus reduces wear and tear to the touch sensitive overlay. The stylus includes a body having a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal end having an internal socket defined by a first spherical radius. The stylus further includes a roller ball captured by the socket, the roller ball being defined by a second spherical radius that is less than the first spherical radius. The roller ball protrudes from the proximal end of the body by a distance P, wherein P is less than one half of the second spherical radius. In one embodiment, the dynamic coefficient of friction relative to the touch sensitive overlay is in the range of 0.2-0.4. In another embodiment, the roller ball is comprised of polyoxymethylene.

摘要： A spring assist folding knife and method of biasing a blade in a folding knife. The folding knife includes a blade, liner, and handle. The blade includes a first recess for receiving a pivot pin. The blade includes a second recess offset from the axis of rotation. A latch cam having an offset pin is located relative to the second recess. The liner includes an arcuate slot in which the offset pin of the latch cam is located. The arcuate slot within the liner or handle also includes a convex extension. A spring is configured to provide a force in the direction of blade opening and provides the force throughout the entire range of blade motion. The spring applies its force to the offset pin to bias the blade in the closed position until the blade reaches a predetermined angle. Then the spring biases the blade to the open position.
