Abstract:
Remotely access computing resources had been a major challenge to many information technology (IT) vendors. For example, the traditional remote file system access products such as network file system (NFS) and message block (MSB) all cannot be used for web based accessing across global due to both of them demanding huge computing powers and network bandwidth. For other example, traditional web based remote files and folders accessing products such as Yahoo Briefcase and VMWare ESX Server 2.0 all cannot support operations such as move or copy a file from one folder into another due to both of them only can display two levels for a file system, thus only can operate files and folders within one flat level. This invention has overcome the problems had occurred in the traditional accessing of remote computing resources by introducing a method and apparatus for creating multi-layered item list to mirror computing resources. The use of the multi-layered item list has effectively reduced the requirement of computing power and network bandwidth and also provides user to operate computing resources at two or more levels by controlling displaying two more levels of the computing resources.
Abstract:
The operation efficiency of a large scale distributed computing system across the world wide web is critical to any enterprise or ISP or ASP operation due to a larger number of various different computing units involved. The introduction of a service pool construction protocol can help enterprise, ISP and ASP to achieve a high degree of automation for creating and managing different service pools in respect to the needs for storage capacity, in the large scale distributed computing system.
Abstract:
Exchange or sharing information through the World Wide Web is a way of life in modern society. The innovated dynamic workspace technology of this invention together with the implementation of posting and un-posting operations for control sharing or stop sharing various resources of message, files, and folder, networks and storages in a central controlled distributed scalable virtual machine (CCDSVM) has not only greatly improved the sharing for messages, files and folders, but also improved the sharing for enterprise operation. Specially, the use of the dynamic workspace for controlling instantly sharing or stop sharing groups of computing systems of a network has tremendously improves agility, security, and flexibly for enterprise IT operations.
Abstract:
Supporting multiple users concurrent login and providing each user to be able to perform multiple concurrent tasks in his/her computer work environment are very critical to modem computer user working environment, which is running on top of modem operating system, due to it greatly improved machine efficiency and user's productivities. Therefore, supporting multiple users concurrent login CCDSVM through each user's web-browser and providing each user to be able to perform multiple concurrent tasks in his/her single login web-browser over resources of CCDSVM will qualify the conventional web-browser to be a new means of a computer user working environment at the Internet era.To support one or multiple users to perform multiple concurrent tasks within a single web-browser for system like CCDSVM, the software modules on systems of CCDSVM require to work and communicate together to collect resource information of CCDSVM, and to display them in each user's web-browser, and further to allow each user selecting the resource, initiating and submitting the tasks from said single web-browser; the software of CCDSVM needs to store each received task information into a user space task list and further to distribute each task to the target system for executing. In addition, software of CCDSVM needs to obtain associated conventional or non-conventional locks for each task and properly release these acquired locks one at a time in the order during each tasks executing up to the point when the tasks are finished.

Abstract:
Supporting end-user to view and operate computing resources through multi-layered item list (“hierarchical list”) has been implemented on native window based computer user work environment of a modern operating system for long time. One example of such use is Windows Explore of MS Windows. The present invention has implemented web based hierarchical list used for access to resources in a computing system, for example access to a centrally controlled distributed scalable virtual machine (CCDSVM) in all kind of network environment. The implementation of the web based hierarchical list is accomplished by creating the hierarchical list in memory to mirror an actual resource structure, where the mirrored hierarchical list is sent to end-user device to cause the end-user device executes a web browser to display the hierarchical list to allow the user via the displayed hierarchical list access to the actual resources in the resource structure.
Abstract:
Group online communication and collaboration has become part of people's daily life. Therefore, it is critical to provide a meeting initiator to efficiently present his/her information, and control his/her presented information. It is also critical for the speed and efficiently to process the meeting initiator's requests for his/her presented information to be quickly reaching to other meeting participants during a meeting. This invention facilitates a unique user interface (UI) for the meeting initiator to efficiently present information and to control presented information through a unique withdrawing (un-post) operation. Specially, this invention deploys dynamic workspaces technology together with post and un-post (withdraw) operations that greatly improves the speed and efficiency for processing the meeting initiator's requests and for monetizing the meeting activities.
Abstract:
The virtual presentation technology in this invention can significantly reduce data load on a network and thus reduce the network bandwidth requirement. This allows serving more requests for data transaction over a network with fixed network bandwidth. In addition, with traditional Internet file sharing products, e.g. the then-existed Yahoo Group online service, in order to stop sharing a file, the file must be physically deleted that prevents resharing the file unless expensively recreating them. In addition, traditional email and instant message does not allow a user to delete a previously posted or shared message from a UI of a recipient. Therefore, the user could be embarrassed if the posted message is not proper to the recipient. This invention has overcome the problems to allow user instantly deleting posted information of file or folder from recipient's UI without physically deleting the file, and deleting previously posted messages from recipient's UI.

Abstract:
The use of hierarchical list to represent and operate resource structure has been practiced by operating system, for example by Windows Explore of Microsoft Windows, for very long time. However, users are lack of Windows Explore like tools to work on resource structure, such as file system, across world wide web (“WWW”). Present invention has disclosed a technology of utilizing memory bound multi-layered hierarchical list to mirror an actual resource structure and presenting the multi-layered hierarchical list to a user across the Internet during a user session for the user through the multi-layered hierarchical list displayed on an end-user device to access and operate the resource structure.
