摘要: A lighting device includes a light guide plate, a first light source, a second light source, and a case. The light guide plate includes plate surfaces and an outer peripheral surface. One of the plate surfaces is configured as a light exiting surface. Sections of the outer peripheral surface on opposite sides from each other relative to the center of the light exiting surface are configured as a first light entering surface and a second light entering surface, respectively. The first light source is disposed opposite the first light entering surface. The second light source is disposed opposite the second light entering surface. The case includes an annular wall portion surrounding an outer circumference of the light guide plate, the first light source, and the second light source. The annular wall portion includes light source non-disposing areas between the first light entering surface and the second light entering surface.

摘要: An illumination device according to the present invention includes: a light source row in which a plurality of light sources are aligned in a row; a light guide plate that includes a plate-shaped main body with an end thereof facing the light source row, a light-receiving portion that is arranged on the end of the main body and into which light from the light sources enters, plate-shaped side extensions that are arranged on the sides of the main body and that extend outwards further than the light-receiving portion, and a light-exiting portion that is arranged on front surfaces of the main body and the side extensions and that allows light that enters via the light-receiving portion to exit; and a supply unit that supplies light to the side extensions.

摘要: A method of driving a display device including a display panel that includes a color filter board is provided. The color filter board includes a light blocking section formed in a grid and color sections that are formed in areas surrounded by a pattern of the light blocking section in different colors from area to area. The color sections form display pixels on a combination basis. The display panel includes a light blocking area in at least a section of an edge along an outline of the display panel. The method includes setting the color sections that do not form the display pixels among the color sections adjacent to the light blocking area in a plan view of the display panel constantly in the black state.

The optical member 16 includes at least a curved end surface 16C having a curved shape in a plan view included in a periphery of the optical member 16. The positioning portion 26 includes a positioning hole 25 that opens through a thickness direction of the optical member 16 and a positioning protrusion 26 that is inserted in the positioning hole 25 and is in contact with an inner wall of the positioning hole 25. The rotation restricting portion 24 includes an optical member recess 27 that is a portion of the periphery of the optical member 16 recessed along a circumferential direction and a contact portion 28 that is in contact with the optical member recess 27.

摘要: Provided are an illumination device capable of improving the uniformity in brightness of the illumination light, and a display device using the same. An illumination device is provided with: a plurality of light sources arranged in a row in one direction; and a light guide plate which has, along a side edge face, a light receiving face facing the light source, guides light entering through the light receiving face, and outputs illumination light from a light emitting surface disposed on the front surface; the light guide plate having a plurality of prisms and a plurality of prisms provided in an indented manner on the front or rear surface and arranged in a row along the longitudinal direction of the light receiving face; the prisms being formed spanning between the light receiving face and the opposing face opposite the light receiving face; and the prisms being formed, between adjacent prisms, deeper than the prisms within a predetermined range in the vicinity of the light receiving face.

摘要: A color conversion substrate and liquid crystal display device of the present invention simplify the manufacturing process thereof and reduce deviations in intensity distribution of emitted light. The color conversion substrate includes a transparent substrate having a first main surface, a phosphor layer having a plurality of phosphors arranged along the first main surface and a plurality of transparent first boundary parts formed so as to surround the respective phosphors, and a plurality of first reflective parts formed on the outer peripheral surface of the respective plurality of first boundary parts. The portions of the first boundary parts where the respective first reflective parts are formed are curved, and the curvature thereof is 0.50/d1 to 0.83/d1, where d1 is the thickness of the respective first boundary parts.

摘要: A backlight unit includes side emitting-type LEDs, a light guide plate, and an LED board. The light guide plate includes a light entering end surface, a light exiting plate surface, and an opposite plate surface. The LED board includes a plate surface attached to an edge of the opposite plate surface of the light guide plate. A gap is present between light emitting surfaces of the LEDs and the light entering end surface of the light guide plate. Each LED includes a light emitting surface having a dimension in the thickness direction of the light guide plate smaller than a dimension of the light entering end surface in the thickness direction. Each LED is disposed such that the center of the light emitting surface is opposed to the center of the light entering end surface.

摘要: A lighting device includes a light source emitting light having an orientation distribution around an optical axis, a light guide plate having a hole and including a light entrance surface, a light exit surface, a non-light exit portion, and a light receiving surface, and a reflecting portion. The light entrance surface is opposite the light source such that the optical axis overlaps the hole. The non-light exit portion is the hole and surrounded by the light exit surface. The light receiving surface is next to the light entrance surface and near the non-light exit portion and receives maximum inclination light including light inclined at a largest angle with respect to the optical axis in a plan view. The reflecting portion is arranged opposite the light receiving surface and reflects the maximum inclination light from the light receiving surface toward the non-light exit portion.

The inner peripheral wall portion has a configuration in which the opposing surface has a lower light reflectivity than that of an opposing surface of the outer peripheral wall portion.
