Abstract: An electronic device, which may be a dual-mode user equipment (UE), communicates with a first network and a second network. The first network may be a legacy network. The second network may be a 5G or 6G network. Transmission by the electronic device of reference signals to the second network may interfere reception at the electronic device of signals from the first network. Methods and devices are provided for avoiding interference when using the first and second networks.

Abstract: According to one or more embodiments, an electronic device comprises an antenna, a transceiver configured to generate a first signal which corresponds to a first frequency band and transmit the first signal to the antenna, a coupler electrically connected to the antenna and the transceiver, and a communication processor operatively connected to the transceiver, and the communication processor may be configured to identify whether the first signal is abnormal, at least partially based on at least part of the first signal, wherein the at least part of the first signal is a signal fed back through the coupler, and, based on identifying that the first signal is abnormal, control transmission power of the first signal during a set time interval. Other embodiments may be possible.
