An electronic device is disclosed. The disclosed electronic device comprises at least one camera module, a memory, and a processor electrically connected to the camera module and the memory, wherein the memory stores instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to store a first frame, which is generated using an image inputted through the camera module, as a first image in the memory, and if a degree of similarity between a second frame and a third frame, which are generated using the image inputted through the camera module, is equal to or greater than a predetermined value, cause the processor to generate a second image by synthesizing at least one frame comprising the second frame and the third frame and store the second image in the memory. Other various embodiments are also possible.

The method includes displaying an image and if a filter effect list request is input, dividing at least a portion of the image into a plurality of filter areas, and displaying a preview image in which different filter effects are applied to the plurality of filter areas.

An electronic device and method of operation an electronic device are provided. The method include acquiring, by the electronic device, at least one first image before a focus setup is performed by an image taking module connected to the electronic device, detecting a first content related to the acquired at least one first image, setting a recognition area, based on a result of the detection of the first content, such that the recognition area includes the first content, acquiring a focus-set second image from the image taking module, detecting a second content related to the second image based on the recognition area, and expressing the second content through a display connected to the electronic device.
