Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed to manage beams in a Multicast and Broadcast Services (MBS) wireless communication network. A first device receives a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) and a Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) for MBS communications in a Common Frequency Resource (CFR). The first device also receives a configuration sent by the second device that is for a MBS Beam Failure Detection Reference Signal (BFD-RS). The first device may then detect a MBS Beam Failure Incident (BFI) of a first MBS beam using the MBS BFD-RS configuration. In response to detecting the BFI, the first device may autonomously connect to a second MBS beam. Alternatively, the first device may communicate the BFI to the second device in order to recover a MBS beam. In one embodiment, the first device is a User Equipment (UE), and the second device is a Next Generation NodeB (gNB).

The method includes configuring the UE with a first UL subband configuration for communicating with an external device, wherein the first UL subband configuration designates a first set of one or more resource blocks (RBs) inside of a carrier for the UE to perform UL transmission, receiving a downlink (DL) signal indication, and overriding the first UL subband configuration with a second subband configuration based on the DL signal indication, wherein the second subband configuration designates a first communication configuration of the first set of one or more RBs inside of a subband and a second communication configuration of a second set of RBs outside of the subband.

Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for providing enhancements to Semi-Persistent Scheduling (SPS) to match traffic, while also providing power savings, resource utilization and HARQ enhancements related to traffic and SPS configurations. A SPS configuration may include one or more occasions in a Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) of a wireless network for traffic for a wireless device. In response to the SPS configuration, the wireless device receives the traffic in the scheduled occasions. The SPS configuration may include one or more occasions in at least one time slot in a SPS period. At least one occasion may align with a target periodicity of the traffic. The SPS configuration may include different configuration states, and a Downlink Control Information (DCI) message may be used to indicate to a wireless device which SPS configuration state to use to receive the traffic.
