    Abstract: Provided are a device and method of controlling a wearable device. The device may include a communicator configured to communicate with one or more wearable devices that are worn on a user's body and obtain physical information of the user; and a controller configured to determine wearing positions where the one or more wearable devices are worn on the user's body, to determine a type of activity (e.g., exercise) performed by the user, and to determine, as a main controlled-device based on the wearing positions, at least one wearable device that corresponds to the activity type of the user and is from among the one or more wearable devices worn on the user's body, wherein, via the communicator, the controller controls, from among the one or more wearable devices worn on the user's body, the main controlled-device differently from wearable devices excluding the main controlled-device.

    Abstract: A device configured to determine a rotation angle with respect to a proceeding direction includes an accelerometer configured to obtain acceleration information related to movements of the device; a storage unit configured to store the acceleration information; and a controller configured to transform coordinates of the acceleration information, filter the acceleration information on the transformed coordinates, and determine the rotation angle of the device with respect to the proceeding direction of the device by using gravitational acceleration information on the transformed coordinates. The gravitational acceleration information is derived by using information about a time point when a vertical acceleration component at the transformed coordinates of the device has a maximum value, from among the acceleration information.

    Abstract: A method of estimating a moving direction of a user of an apparatus is provided. The method includes obtaining change information of acceleration according to motions of the user from an acceleration sensor mounted in an apparatus for estimating the moving direction of the user, calculating a reaction vector of force applied to a ground surface by feet of the user based on the change information of the acceleration, calculating an included angle between the moving direction of the user based on the reaction vector and an axis of a geomagnetic sensor that is included in the apparatus and detects change information of a magnetic field according to a position of the user, and determining the moving direction of the user based on a moving direction measurement value of the geomagnetic sensor mounted in the apparatus and the included angle.
