An electronic device and a method are disclosed. The electronic device includes a housing, a display, a first communication circuit, a detection circuit, a memory, and a processor. The detection circuit is configured to detect a stylus pen when the stylus pen including a second communication circuit is located within a predetermined distance range from the display. The processor is operably connected to the display, the first communication circuit, the detection circuit, and the memory. The processor is configured to receive a signal containing unique identification information from the stylus pen. The processor is also configured to execute a first application program while receiving an input generated based on a touch by the stylus pen on the display or generated based on a movement of the stylus pen detected within the predetermined distance range. The processor is further configured to associate the unique identification information with the first application program.

An electronic device and method are disclosed. The electronic device includes a display, a communication module configured to perform wireless connection with a stylus pen, a processor operably coupled to the display and the communication module, and a memory storing programming instructions. The processor implements the method, including: receiving, via the communication module, a gesture input from the stylus pen while the stylus pen is spaced apart from the display, determining that a gesture identification error has occurs based on the received the gesture input, and controlling the display to display a visual guide related to the gesture identification error.

A screenshot or screen capture operation method for an electronic device includes: capturing a screen displayed on a display; determining whether additional information exists on the displayed screen; when the additional information exists, extracting the additional information, based on the displayed screen; determining whether a command for modifying the captured screen has been received; when the command for modifying the captured screen is determined as having been received, modifying the captured screen according to a user input; and storing the extracted additional information and/or the captured screen as a captured image. The resulting method enables a user to capture a screen intended or desired by the user.
