An electronic device and its operating method are provided. The method includes, while a display displays content, identifying, by a first processor, state information of the electronic device using a first sensor based on a first cycle, determining, by the first processor, whether the state information is maintained using the first sensor based on a second cycle, when determining that the state information is maintained based on the second cycle, providing, by the first processor to a second processor, first notification information corresponding to the determination, and changing, by the second processor, a state of the display in response to the first notification information.

A method of an electronic device is provided. The method includes obtaining first state information related to a motion of the electronic device by using a first sensor operatively coupled to the electronic device while the electronic device is in a first state, transitioning, if the first state information satisfies a first designated condition, the electronic device from the first state to a second state, obtaining second state information related to at least a part of a user's body corresponding to the electronic device by using a second sensor operatively coupled to the electronic device while the electronic device is in the second state, and transitioning, if the second state information satisfies a second designated condition, the electronic device from the second state to a third state.

The processor obtains a biometric signal from the sensor module at a predetermined time interval, determines whether a user is in a first state on the basis of the obtained biometric signal, in case the user is in a first state, obtains a representative value for a respective of the at least one biometric signal, defines the obtained representative value for the respective of the at least one biometric signal as a candidate reference value for a corresponding biometric signal, determines a candidate reference value satisfying a predetermined condition as a first reference value for the corresponding biometric signal, and updates a second reference value previously configured for the corresponding biometric signal on the basis of the first reference value.

An apparatus and a method for providing a motion recognition service in an electronic device. The electronic device may include: a sensor module configured to detect one or more pieces of sensor data corresponding to the motion of the electronic device, at least one processor that is electrically connected with the sensor module, and a non-transitory memory that is electrically connected with the processor. The non-transitory memory stores instructions that when executed by the processor detect the one or more pieces of sensor data by using the sensor module. The processor identifies whether or not there is a motion pattern corresponding to the sensor data in the memory, and creates a motion pattern based on at least some of the sensor data according to whether or not the motion pattern corresponding to the one or more pieces of sensor data exists.

Various example embodiments of the disclosure relate to an apparatus and method for providing a service based on context information in an electronic device. In this case, a portable electronic apparatus may include a communication module, an air pressure sensor configured to measure air pressure, a processor electrically coupled to the communication module and the air pressure sensor, and a memory electrically coupled to the processor. The memory may store instructions, when executed, for configuring the processor to determine whether the electronic device is located in a first geofence using the communication module, start monitoring of the air pressure by using the air pressure sensor at least in part on the determining that the electronic device is located in the first geofence, deactivate at least one part of the communication module when the monitored air pressure satisfies one or more of a first range and a first change rate, and re-activate the deactivated at least one part of the communication module when the monitored air pressure satisfies one or more of a second range and a second change rate after the at least one part of the communication module is deactivated. Other example embodiments may also be possible.

An electronic device and method are disclosed for sleep apnea detection. The electronic device includes a display, a photoplethysmogram (PPG) sensor, a memory and a processor. The processor implements the method, including: receiving, for a user, first data from a photoplethysmogram (PPG) sensor, the first data including a pulse signal measured during a first period, and associated with a heartbeat and respiration of the user, determining a first parameter associated with a high-frequency component of the pulse signal, and a second parameter associated with a low-frequency component of the pulse signal, based on at least a portion of the first data, determining fluctuation ranges for the high-frequency component and the low-frequency component, determining whether at least the determined fluctuation ranges are indicative of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), and displaying information associated with the determination of whether the at least the determined fluctuation ranges are indicative of OSA through the display.

The electronic device includes at least one sensor, a reception module and a route information providing module, which executes the method, including determining, by the reception module, a present location as a first location in response to detecting occurrence of a first predetermined event, acquiring movement information by the at least one sensor when the electronic device moves from the first location, after moving from the first location, determining, by the reception module, a new present location as a second location in response to occurrence of a second predetermined event, the determination of the new present location including acquiring geographical location information corresponding to the second location, and generating route information corresponding to at least one interval between the first location and the second location based on at least a part of the acquired movement information and at least a part of the geographical location information.
