    Abstract: A display device including: a display panel including a plurality of pixels; a display panel driver configured to drive the display panel; a memory device configured to store a reference current-temperature model that is set for the display panel, a global offset of the display panel, which is calculated based on the reference current-temperature model in a manufacturing stage of the display panel, and a local offset of the display panel, which is calculated based on a characteristic difference between the pixels in the manufacturing stage; and a panel temperature determiner configured to measure sensing currents flowing through the pixels when a temperature sensing voltage is applied to the pixels, calculate correction sensing currents by applying the global offset and the local offset to the sensing currents, and determine temperatures of the pixels by substituting the correction sensing currents into the reference current-temperature model.

    Abstract: A display device includes a display panel, a controller, and a data driver. The display panel includes a plurality of pixels. The controller detects a logo region including a logo in image data, determines a correction gain based on a first average gray level of the logo region and a second average gray level of a peripheral region adjacent to the logo region, and generates corrected image data by correcting the image data based on the correction gain. The data driver provides data signals to the plurality of pixels based on the corrected image data.

    Abstract: A method of performing image-adaptive tone mapping includes: determining a tone mapping curve based on a data signal corresponding to an image frame to be displayed on a display panel; determining whether a scene-change occurs between the image frame and a previous image frame by comparing the data signal with a previous data signal corresponding to the previous image frame; generating, in response to a determination that the scene-change does not occur, a final tone mapping curve based on the tone mapping curve and a previous tone mapping curve, which is applied to the previous image frame; determining, in response to a determination that the scene change occurs, the tone mapping curve as the final tone mapping curve; and performing a tone mapping by applying the final tone mapping curve to the image frame.

    Abstract: A method of driving a display panel includes: grouping m adjacent pixels, which output same color light, into one pixel-group in the display panel, where m is an integer greater than or equal to two; determining whether a unit grayscale (UG) to be implemented by the pixel-group is greater than or equal to a determined reference grayscale (REFG) by analyzing respective data signals applied to the pixel-group; performing, in response to the UG being greater than or equal to the REFG, a normal driving that implements the UG by controlling all of the m adjacent pixels to emit light with first luminance corresponding to the respective data signals; and performing, in response to the UG being less than the REFG, a combination driving that implements the UG by controlling only a portion of the m adjacent pixels to emit light with second luminance that is greater than the first luminance.
