摘要: The optical fiber comprises a glass fiber comprising a core and a cladding, a primary resin layer in contact with the glass fiber and covering the glass fiber, and a secondary resin layer covering the primary resin layer, wherein the primary resin layer contains a cured product of a resin composition containing a urethane (meth)acrylate oligomer, a monomer, a photopolymerization initiator and an aromatic acid compound, a content of the aromatic acid compound is 20 ppm or more and 12000 ppm or less based on a total amount of the resin composition, and Young's modulus of the primary resin layer is 0.6 MPa or less at 23° C.±2° C.

摘要: A coated optical fiber 1 comprising a glass fiber 10 and a primary coating layer 20 on the outer circumference of the glass fiber 10, wherein a resin constituting the primary coating layer 20 contains ingredient(s) having a molecular weight of more than 1,000, which is extracted with methyl ethyl ketone, in an amount of 5% by weight or more and 21% by weight or less and has a Young's modulus of 0.2 to 1.0 MPa. The resin constituting the primary coating layer 20 of the coated optical fiber 1 has a good curability, and the coated optical fiber 1 exhibits a reduced microbending loss.

摘要: A method for manufacturing an optical fiber includes: a coating step of forming a first layer by applying a first ultraviolet ray curable resin composition onto a glass fiber, and then, of forming a second layer by applying a second ultraviolet ray curable resin composition onto the first layer; a first irradiation step of curing the first layer and the second layer by irradiating the first layer and the second layer with an ultraviolet ray, and of obtaining the optical fiber including a primary resin layer and a secondary resin layer; and a second irradiation step of irradiating the optical fiber with an ultraviolet ray at an illuminance of less than or equal to one tenth of an illuminance in the first irradiation step for an irradiation time of longer than or equal to 10 times an irradiation time in the first irradiation step.

摘要: An optical fiber capable of achieving both of the ZSA property and the rapid curability is provided. The optical fiber includes a glass optical fiber 13, a primary coating layer 16 that coats an outer periphery of the glass optical fiber 13, and a secondary optical fiber 17 that coats an outer periphery of the primary coating layer 16. Young's modulus of the primary coating layer 16 is 1.2 MPa or less and Young's modulus of the secondary coating layer 17 is 800 MPa or more. Sulfur content of the surface of the glass optical fiber 13 is 0.2% by atom or more. Sulfur is not present in the vicinity of the outer periphery of the primary coating layer 16.
