摘要: An ear-worn electronic device comprises a microphone arrangement configured to sense sound in an acoustic environment, an acoustic transducer, and a non-volatile memory configured to store parameter value sets each associated with a different acoustic environment, at least one of which is associated with an acoustic environment with muffled speech. A control input of the device is configured to receive a control input signal produced by a user-actuatable control, a sensor or an external electronic device. A processor is configured to classify the acoustic environment as one with muffled speech using the sensed sound and, in response to a signal received from the control input, apply one or more of the parameter value sets appropriate for the classification to enhance intelligibility of muffled speech.

摘要: An ear-worn electronic device comprises at least one microphone configured to sense sound in an acoustic environment, an acoustic transducer, and a non-volatile memory configured to store a plurality of parameter value sets, each of the parameter value sets associated with a different acoustic environment. A control input is configured to receive a control input signal produced by at least one of a user-actuatable control of the ear-worn electronic device and an external electronic device communicatively coupled to the ear-worn electronic device in response to a user action. A processor is operably coupled to the microphone, the acoustic transducer, the non-volatile memory, and the control input. The processor is configured to classify the acoustic environment using the sensed sound and apply, in response to the control input signal, one of the parameter value sets appropriate for the classification.

摘要: A hearing system includes a pair of first and second hearing devices wirelessly coupled to a remote device that includes a microphone. One or more gains can each be calculated as a function of a first microphone signal received from the first hearing device, a second microphone signal received from the second hearing device, and a remote microphone signal received from the remote device. The function can be designed to improve speech intelligibility in a noisy environment. The one or more gains are applied to the first and second microphone signals to produce output sounds by the first and second hearing devices.

摘要: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for eardrum acoustic pressure estimation for hearing device applications. A receiver signal is produced through a receiver of a hearing device, or a physical extension of the receiver, placed inside an ear canal of a user. A microphone signal is sensed, in response to the receiver signal, using a microphone placed outside the ear canal. Based on the receiver signal and the microphone signal, a reliability signal of the microphone signal and a feedback-path signal are computed. A spectral representation signal of the feedback-path signal is computed, and a real-ear response signal is computed using a mathematical combination of the spectral-representation signal and the reliability signal. The computed real-ear response signal is used to modify an operational characteristic of the hearing device, or to make a recommendation for modification of an operational characteristic or a physical characteristic of the hearing device.

摘要: A speaker of a hearing instrument generates a sound that includes a range of frequencies. Furthermore, a microphone of the hearing instrument measures an acoustic response to the sound. A processing system classifies, based on the acoustic response to the sound, a depth of insertion of an in-ear assembly of the hearing instrument into an ear canal of a user. Additionally, the processing system generates an indication based on the depth of insertion of the in-ear assembly of the hearing instrument into the ear canal of the user.
