Abstract: A connector and a connector assembly capable of being attached to a freely bendable object such as clothes when used are provided. The connector to be fit to a counterpart connector includes a housing; a conductive contact provided in the housing; and a plurality of holding members comprising a magnetic material provided in the housing. The holding member is configured to be attracted to a magnetic material of the counterpart connector when the connector is fit to the counterpart connector to maintain a fit state. The housing is bendable, and has a plurality of fixing holes formed therein. The holding members are disposed in parallel apart from each other in a longitudinal direction (X direction) in the surface of the housing.

Abstract: Provided are a connector and a connector assembly which can be attached for use to a bendable object of interest such as clothing. A connector, which is mated with a mating connector, is provided with a plate-shaped housing, electrically conductive contacts arranged on the housing, and a plurality of retainer members formed from a magnetic metal and arranged in the housing. When the connector is mated with the mating connector, the retainer members are attracted to a magnet that the mating connector has so as to hold the mating state. Abstract: A connector with enhanced suppression and shieldability of signal interference between signal terminals is provided. A connector includes a ground plate made of conductive metal, the ground plate being placed beside a fitting groove of a socket housing. A plug includes a shield plate made of a conductive plate member beside a plug-side signal terminal, and a surface of the shield plate is opposed to a top end surface of the ground plate. The connector can ensure cooperation between the shield plate and the ground plate and enhance suppression and shieldability of signal interference between the signal terminals.
