Abstract: An X-ray tube has a rotary anode which is a compound body of heavy metal and graphite parts, the focal spot path lying upon the heavy metal. The invention is particularly characterized by the provision of a layer of metal selected from the group consisting of tantalum and/or tungsten and located between the heavy metal part and the graphite part. The heavy metal part consists at least primarily of molybdenum, is shaped as a plate and is soldered to the graphite part outside of the focal spot path.

Abstract: An X-ray tube wherein the anode is driven by an induction motor and is provided with a focal point, the cathode being directed upon the focal point path, the rotor of the motor being connected with the rotary axle of the anode and being located within the vacuum case, while the stator is located outside of the case, and wherein the case in the part between the rotor and the stator consists of metal. The tube is particularly characterized in that this metal part is a poor conductor of electrical current.

Abstract: A rotary anode for X-ray tubes, wherein the rotary system consisting of the plate, rotor and bearings is connected by springs with the casing of the tube. The invention is particularly characterized in that the plate and the rotor are mounted upon an axle to which a rotary ring of each of two bearings is connected, while the other rotary ring engages a tube provided with springs which provide a connection with the casing and have their own frequency which is substantially less than the driving frequency.
