Abstract: A punching device, includes a die configured to support a paper sheet and a punch unit configured to perform a punch process, wherein the punch unit includes a pressing section, a punch that has a conical shaped tip end section and that is configured to move up and down, and a punch guide hole configured to accommodate the punch and to guide the punch in up and down movement and the die includes a hole section provided in a portion facing the punch and through which the punch is passable, a die blade provided at an upper end periphery of the hole section and configured to cut the sheet in cooperation with the punch, and after the sheet is pressed by the die and the pressing section, the punch process is performed by lowering the punch while bringing the tip end section into contact with the paper.

Abstract: A post-processing apparatus includes a side edge alignment section configured to move to a first position, a second position, that is farther from the side edges in the width direction than the first position, and a third position, that is between the first position and the second position in the width direction. The post-processing apparatus is configured to execute an adjustment operation of moving the side edge alignment section from the second position to the third position and an alignment operation of aligning the medium by causing the side edge alignment section to abut on the medium in the first position. The adjustment operation is executed while the first transport section transports the medium and the alignment operation is executed after the adjustment operation is performed and after the medium reaches a tip end alignment section.

Abstract: A post-processing device includes a processing tray, an aligning plate, a transport section, a feeding section, and a pressing section. A sheet before being subjected to stapling processing by a stapler is to be mounted on the processing tray. The aligning plate aligns ends of a plurality of sheets. The transport section transports the sheet toward the aligning plate. The feeding section is provided between the transport section and the aligning plate and feeds the sheet in a transport direction. The pressing section is provided between the transport section and the aligning plate and applies, to the sheet, a pressing force having a component in a direction opposite from the transport direction. Further, the pressing section applies the pressing force to the sheet before the feeding section applies a feeding force to the sheet.

Abstract: A loading unit includes a processing tray, alignment units, and a paddle. In the processing tray, a medium is placed. A coefficient of friction of a contact surface of the alignment unit is higher than a coefficient of friction of a front face of the alignment unit, and the contact surface is positioned downstream of the front face in the positive A direction.
