Abstract: Provided are a method and apparatus for reporting power headroom in a mobile communication system supporting carrier aggregation. A user equipment (UE) determines the maximum transmit power for each carrier and the maximum UE transmit power, and sends a power headroom report that contains power headroom for each carrier computed based on the maximum transmit power for the carrier and the maximum UE transmit power to a corresponding base station (ENB).

According to the embodiment of the present specification, by aggregating carriers amongst different base stations, a possibility for the UE to transmit and receive high-speed data through carrier aggregation can increase.

Abstract: A transmission control method for HARQ is provided for improving HARQ performance in a mobile communication system. The transmission control method for Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest (HARQ) in a mobile communication system according to the present invention includes receiving an downlink resource assignment message; determining whether configured downlink assignment has been indicated to an HARQ entity since a previously received downlink assignment for a User Equipment's (UE's) Cell-Radio Network Temporary Identifier (C-RNTI) for the same HARQ process; maintaining, if the configured downlink assignment has not been indicated to the HARQ entity, the HARQ process; and processing, if the configured downlink assignment has been indicated to the HARQ entity, the downlink resource assignment message as a resource assignment message for initial transmission.

Abstract: An apparatus for communicating with a Long-Term Evolution LTE network comprises a wireless communications module operable in a Frequency Division Duplexing FDD mode and a Time Division Duplexing TDD mode, the apparatus having different capabilities in the FDD and TDD modes. The apparatus sends capability information related to capabilities and/or feature groups supported by the apparatus to the network, the capability information including a legacy part and an extension part such that a legacy LTE node can comprehend the capability information from the legacy part and not from the extension part. The extension part is included in an existing User Equipment Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access UE-EUTRA-Capability Information Element, or is separate to the UE-EUTRA-Capability Information Element. A Radio Access Network RAN node for use in the LTE network is also disclosed, the node being arranged to identify different capabilities and/or feature groups supported by the apparatus in the FDD and TDD modes based on the capability information. Methods for use in the apparatus and node are also provided.

Abstract: A user equipment (2) has an ability to operate according to one or more spectrum emission requirement capability values (14) in a wireless communications network having at least a first serving cell (4). A message (6) is received at the user equipment (2) from the first serving cell (4) comprising a first indicator representing a first band designation (8), a second indicator representing a spectrum emission requirement value (10), and at least one additional indicator representing at least one additional spectrum emission requirement value (12), both the first and additional indicators relating to the first band designation. The user equipment (2) performs a comparison of the first and additional spectrum emission requirement values (10, 12) with the one or more spectrum emission requirement capability values (14) and determines a behavior of the user equipment (2) in relation to the first serving cell (4) in dependence on the comparison.
