Abstract: An electronic device may include a housing including a first plate facing a first direction, a second plate facing a second direction opposite the first direction, and a side housing surrounding a space between the first plate and the second plate, wherein the side housing includes a first portion, including an external metal portion having a first face facing an outside and a second face facing the space and an internal polymer portion having a third face contacting the second face and a fourth face facing the space, a touch screen display positioned within the space to be viewable through the first plate, wherein an edge of the touch screen display is spaced apart from the first portion of the side housing and when the first plate is viewed from above, the gap is covered by a peripheral portion of the first glass plate, an antenna structure comprising at least one antenna and configured to include a substrate having a fifth face substantially parallel to the second face and a sixth face facing a direction opposite the fifth face and at least one conductive pattern positioned between the fifth face and the sixth face and extending toward the peripheral portion of the first plate, and wireless communication circuitry operatively connected to the at least one conductive pattern and configured to form a directivity beam using at least a part of the at least one conductive pattern.

Abstract: An electronic device is disclosed. The electronic device comprises: a first plate including a first planar region facing a first direction; a second plate comprising a second planar region facing a second direction opposite to the first direction; a housing including a side member surrounding an inner space between the first plate and the second plate; a display disposed between the first plate and the second plate and viewed through the first plate; and an antenna module disposed between the display and the second plate and configured to emit electromagnetic waves to the outside of the housing. The antenna module comprises: an antenna substrate including a first surface facing the first plate, a second surface facing the second plate, and a third surface facing the inner surface of the side member; and a wireless communication circuit disposed on the first surface of the antenna substrate. The antenna substrate comprises: a first antenna adjacent to the first surface or formed on the first surface; a second antenna adjacent to the second surface or formed on the second surface; and a third antenna formed between the first antenna and the second antenna. The first antenna is formed at a first distance from the third surface, the second antenna is formed at a second distance from the third surface, and the third antenna may be formed at a third distance that is greater than the first distance and the second distance from the third surface. Various other embodiments inferred from the present specification are also possible.

Abstract: An electronic device according to an embodiment of the present invention may include a housing and an antenna module disposed on one surface of the housing, wherein the antenna module may include a printed circuit board including a first layer facing the one surface of the housing, a second layer facing the first layer, and at least one ground layer disposed between the first layer and the second layer, a first antenna array disposed on the first layer, a second antenna array disposed on the second layer and at least partially overlapping the first antenna array when viewed from the one surface of the housing, and a communication circuit (radio frequency integrated circuit (RFIC)) electrically connected to the first antenna array and the second antenna array and feeding the first antenna array and the second antenna array, wherein the communication circuit may be configured to receive a first signal from an external device via at least one of the first antenna array or the second antenna array, change a phase of at least a portion of the first antenna array and the second antenna array based on the first signal, and transmit/receive a second signal in a direction of a beam formed by the changed phase. Abstract: According to various embodiments, an electronic device may include a housing, an antenna structure disposed inside the housing and including a first face, a second face facing away from the first face, a first conductive helical pattern which extends between the first face and the second face and is constructed inside the antenna structure, and a second conductive helical pattern which extends between the first face and the second face, overlaps with at least in part with the first conductive helical pattern when viewed from above the first face, and is constructed inside the antenna structure, and at least one wireless communication circuit electrically coupled to a first point of the first conductive helical pattern and a second point of the second conductive helical pattern. The first point may be disposed to be spaced apart from the second point when viewed from above the first face. The at least one wireless communication circuit may be configured to provide the first point with a first signal having a frequency between 3 GHz and 100 GHz, and provide the second point with a second signal having a first phase difference with the first signal and having the frequency. Various other embodiments may also be possible.
