Abstract:
A broadcast signal receiving apparatus, a system including the same, and control methods thereof, are disclosed, the broadcast signal receiving apparatus including: a signal receiver configured to receive a radio frequency (RF) broadcast signal; an analog-to-digital (AD) converter configured to convert the received RF broadcast signal to have a digital format; a signal compensator including signal compensating circuitry configured to compensate the RF broadcast signal so that the RF broadcast signal having the digital format has a substantially constant level within a predetermined frequency band; and a digital-to-analog (DA) converter configured to convert the compensated RF broadcast signal to have an analog format. Thus, it is possible to compensate for signal distortion by automatic control using a digital filter in real time.
Abstract:
A broadcast signal receiving apparatus includes a connector configured to connect the apparatus to an antenna; a tuner configured to output a control signal to the antenna via the connector such that the antenna tunes a broadcast signal based on the control signal; a voltage regulator configured to supply a voltage of a predetermined level to the antenna via the connector, and detect an electric current flowing through the connector; and at least one processor configured to control the voltage regulator to adjust the control signal outputted by the tuner based on a channel selection for the broadcast signal, and in response to the electric current flowing through the connector being detected by the voltage regulator, determine that the antenna is connected to the connector and perform a setting for the broadcast signal.
Abstract:
A broadcast receiving apparatus is provided, which includes an input that receives input signals, a signal processing unit which amplifies only a signal in a band that corresponds to a selected channel from among the input signals, and automatic gain controls with a first sensitivity so that the amplified signal maintains a preset level value, and then outputs the result, a demodulator which demodulates the signals output from the signal processing unit into digital transport stream signals, a controller configured to control the signal processing unit so that the signal is automatic gain controlled with a second sensitivity less sensitive than the first sensitivity, when the selected channel is an ultra high frequency (UHF) range signal.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a display apparatus comprising a signal receiver for receiving a broadcasting signal from at least one broadcasting transmitting apparatus through an antenna; a display for displaying an image thereon based on the transmitted broadcasting signal; a user input unit for receiving a user input; and a controller for performing at least one setting operation based on the user input, and for performing at least one second setting operation relating to a selection of a channel for the broadcasting signal through the signal receiver in parallel with the performance of the first setting operation. Accordingly, a channel setting time of a television may be reduced.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a broadcast receiver that includes an antenna connector configured to connect with an antenna for receiving a broadcast signal including broadcast content. The broadcast receiver also includes a signal processor configured to generate a reference signal having a strength corresponding to a signal input through the antenna connector and to process the generated reference signal to output an image signal for displaying the broadcast content, and a controller configured to determine whether the antenna is connected to the antenna connector based on an output value of the reference signal and to perform subsequent operations related to whether the antenna is connected based on the determination.
