    Abstract: A cutting module for cutting a strand into individual pieces, the cutting module comprising a rotatable cutter wheel and a rotatable cot wheel, the cutter wheel being rotatable and having cutting blades, the cot wheel having a cylindrical outer surface and being rotatable parallel at a distance from the cutter wheel, such that cutting edges of the cutting blades contact the outer surface of the cot wheel successively in use, so that a strand which is fed between the cutter wheel and the cot wheel is cut into individual pieces, each of the cutting blades being designed such that a cutting force is directed through the cutting blade.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the production of a tape comprising a plurality of impregnated continuous multifilament strands and a polymer sheath which intimately surrounds the plurality of impregnated continuous multifilament strands, wherein each of the plurality of impregnated multifilament strands extends in the longitudinal direction, wherein each of the plurality of impregnated continuous multifilament strands comprises at least one continuous glass multifilament strand, wherein the at least one continuous glass multifilament strand is impregnated with an impregnating agent, wherein the process comprising the steps of a) unwinding from a package the continuous glass multifilament strands, b) applying the impregnating agent to the continuous glass multifilament strands to form the plurality of impregnated continuous multifilament strands, c) placing the plurality of impregnated continuous multifilament strands in parallel alignment in the longitudinal direction and d) applying a sheath of a thermoplastic polymer composition around the plurality of impregnated continuous multifilament strands of step c) to form the tape, wherein steps c) and d) are performed in a die having a guiding means arranged for placing the plurality of impregnated continuous multifilament strands in parallel alignment in the longitudinal direction, wherein the plurality of impregnated continuous multifilament strands pass through a melt of the thermoplastic polymer composition inside of the die downstream of the guiding means.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a process for producing a polypropylene composition using a first extruder comprising successive zones comprising a first zone, a second zone, a third zone and a fourth zone and a second extruder comprising successive zones comprising a first zone and a second zone, the process comprising the steps of: 1a) introducing a first propylene-based polymer in the first zone of the first extruder, 1b) melt mixing the first propylene-based polymer in the second zone of the first extruder, 1c) adding an additive masterbatch to the mixture of step 1b) in the third zone of the first extruder and 1d) melt-mixing the mixture of step 1c) in the fourth zone of the first extruder to obtain the polypropylene composition, wherein the maximum temperature in the fourth zone of the first extruder is lower than the maximum temperature in the second zone of the first extruder and is lower than 240° C., wherein the additive masterbatch is produced in the second extruder by a process comprising the steps of: 2a) introducing a second propylene-based polymer and organic additives in the first zone of the second extruder and 2b) melt mixing the mixture of step 2a) in the second zone of the second extruder to obtain the additive masterbatch, wherein the maximum temperature in the second zone of the second extruder is lower than the maximum temperature in the second zone of the first extruder and is lower than 240° C.
