Abstract:
There is provided a biodegradable feminine hygienic interlabia pad which includes a biodegradable inner absorbent sliver made of cotton or rayon and a biodegradable outer cover also made of cotton or rayon. The edges of the outer cover are sewn together to form a hollow cylinder. There is also provided a method and apparatus for manufacturing the pads. A rope of absorbent material and a web of the outer covering are brought together in a die. The die in the form of a hollow tube and a tapered guide which causes the outer covering to enclose the absorbent material with the seam for the outer covering being on the inside of the pad. The die includes an opening for exposing the adjacent edges of the web so that the edges may be sewn together. Also adjacent panels are formed by sewing the pad itself.
Abstract:
There is provided a clam shell shaped belt guide pulley having first and second curved halves which are hinged together. Each pulley half has curved inner and outer surfaces. The pulley is adapted to be placed on a large diameter shaft without the need to remove the shaft from the remainder of the machine. There is no supporting structure between the inner surfaces of the pulley halves and the shaft. Each half has a free end. An apparatus is provided to removably connect the free ends together to secure the pulley on the shaft.
Abstract:
There is provided a bench to facilitate the self-examination, shaving, and/or cleansing of the user's pubic area. The bench includes a cavity which is covered by an operable top. A light and a mirror are received in the cavity. The bench includes one or more foot supports. The mirror is mechanically linked to the top so that when the top is opened the mirror will move out of the cavity. The mirror is adjustable to permit the user to readily observe the pubic area.
Abstract:
There is provided a method and apparatus for manufacturing feminine hygienic pads in the form of adjacent thick and thin elongated panels having a filler of absorbent material and an outer covering. A rope of absorbent material and a web of the outer covering are brought together in a die. The die in the form of a hollow tube and a tapered guide causes the outer covering to enclose the absorbent material with the seam for the outer covering being on the inside of the pad. The adjacent panels are formed by sewing the pad.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus is provided for tightly rolling mats. The mats are moved in a horizontal direction in their flattened condition to a rolling section which includes a plurality of fixed curved fingers and a corresponding plurality of curved spring-loaded fingers. A roller is further provided to move the mat upwardly from the conveyor forming a tight cylindrically shaped mat inside the curve of the fingers. Upper belts are provided above the fingers to further ensure that the mat is rolled tightly.
