摘要： An underfloor duct designed to be imbedded in a concrete floor is constructed from first and second duct partial sections which are held together by an interlocking structure integrally formed from the sheet metal of the duct partial sections. In a preferred form the duct partial sections are duct half sections substantially identically formed from sheet metal. In another preferred form, the duct partial sections define flanges extending outwardly at an intermediate level along the sides of a rectangular cross section duct, whereby the duct may be supported from the flanges. Also, multiple cell duct configurations are disclosed.

摘要： A knockdown, portable hot water shower and shower head therefor is disclosed. The shower includes a gas burner, so that an adequate hot water supply is always provided. A unique shower head permits the use of a pump that is powered by a small energy source, such as "D" cell batteries. The shower head has a special arrangement of the apertures formed in the face thereof, so that even water delivered thereto at a low pressure by a small pump may be delivered to a user as a water spray. The shower is readily disassemblable and the components thereof are either nested in the water reservoir or are carried thereon for easy storage and transportability when not in use. This nesting arrangement permits the use of a gas burner in a portable shower.

摘要： An electrical service fitting apparatus includes a base frame having a frame opening defined therethrough. An extensible service fitting is disposed through the frame opening and movable relative to the base frame between a retracted position and an extended position. The base frame has a plurality of grooves defined therein which open into the frame opening. The service fitting has a plurality of elongated ribs defined thereon which are received in the grooves so that the ribs may slide in the grooves to guide the service fitting as it moves between its retracted and extended position. A pair of coiled tape springs are connected between the base frame and the service fitting to bias the service fitting toward its extended position. Two sliding latches are provided to lock the service fitting in its retracted position. A top plate of the service fitting has access openings defined therein through which attachment devices can be accessed so as to mount the apparatus on a duct placed in a concrete floor.

摘要： A preset insert construction is provided for a raceway system designed for placement in a concrete floor. A duct has an access opening defined in a top wall thereof. The access opening has a primary perimeter and a plurality of notches extending beyond the primary perimeter. A preset insert has an extension collar defining an insert opening therethrough similar in size and shape to the access opening. A support flange extends outwardly from a lower end of the collar. A plurality of locking tabs extend downward from the collar below the support flange. Each locking tab includes an outwardly extending locking lip portion. The locking tabs are located relative to each other in a pattern corresponding to the notches of the access opening, and are located on the preset insert so that when the tabs are initially inserted into the notches, the insert opening is partially out of alignment with the access opening. The preset insert is then moved relative to the duct to an aligned position wherein the insert opening is aligned with the access opening and the wall of the duct is located between the support flange and the locking lips of the preset insert. Resilient latching barbs are provided for automatically latching the preset insert in place relative to the duct when it is moved to its aligned position.

摘要： A tap-off base assembly of the present invention provides protection against the ingress of dust and liquids into an electrical busway distribution system of the type having access openings for receiving power tap-off devices. The tap-off base assembly includes a base molded from an electrically insulating material and a pivotally attached door. A tap-off opening seal is placed on the housing around the tap-off opening. The base is slidably received in the busway tap-off opening such that the seal is compressed thereby sealing the tap-off opening. The base has a planar outside surface which includes a number of access openings. Each access opening provides access to one the electrical conductors contained within the busway housing. The door may be selectively moved between an open position which provides access to the electrical conductors and a closed position which prohibits access to the conductors. The door also has a flange around its perimeter and a sealing rib which extend outward from the inside surface of the door. When the door is in the closed position the flange overlaps an edge portion of the base and the sealing ribs are pressed against a gasket in the planar outside surface of the base which surrounds the access openings thereby sealing the access openings and preventing the ingress of dust and liquids into the busway housing. A latch is provided for securing the door in its closed position.

摘要： A oiltight lay-in wireway comprised of wireway sections with hinged covers and a joint connector between the covers of two adjacent wireway sections. The covers overlay the joint connector. The joint connector has a free floating hinge connecting it to the wireway sections, allowing the cover to provide the main compression force on the joint connector gasket. A bolt with a splined shoulder provides a grounded connection between adjacent wireway sections while still allowing the joint connector to float freely. The compression force on the joint connector is exerted by the covers which are held closed by clips on the wireway sections. An oil resilient gasket provides a seal between adjacent wireway sections, between the joint connector and wireway sections, between the cover and joint connector, and between the cover and wireway sections. Raised ends on the cover contact the joint connectors while still maintaining a seal with the wireway sections.

摘要： A junction box apparatus for an electrical raceway system to be placed in a floor includes a base and a removable access unit. A removable tunnel insert is provided which can be inserted down through the access unit after the access unit is mounted upon the base. The tunnel insert defines a plurality of passages through the junction box. A removable extension collar is also provided which is adapted to be sandwiched between the base and the access unit for determining a nominal height of the junction box apparatus. Also, removable duct separators having spring metal clips with serrated edges are provided which are adapted to be connected to the base for separating a plurality of ducts received in the duct openings. By a combination of the removable tunnel insert, the removable extension collar, and the removable duct separators, a basic base and access unit assembly can be readily modified to be compatible with a plurality of duct combinations and arrangements and a plurality of floor thicknesses.

摘要： A floor construction includes a concrete floor having a main duct embedded in the concrete floor. The main duct has a bottom and a top, with the top being covered by the concrete floor. A service fitting includes a service box and an auxiliary duct means. The service box is located adjacent a side of the main duct and has a plan area and a capacity substantially equal to at least that plan area times a depth of the concrete floor above the bottom of the main duct. The auxiliary duct lays transversely across the top of the main duct and is attached thereto for providing a passage for wiring from the main duct to the service box. The main duct preferably is a multi-cell duct, and the auxiliary duct includes dividers dividing the auxiliary duct into passageways corresponding to the cells of the main duct. This construction provides for a greatly increased capacity for the service fitting in concrete floors of minimum depths.

摘要： A gangable wireway assembly including a plurality of generally U-shaped troughs and trough covers utilized as either tandem sections or as fittings which connect the tandem sections in an elbow, tee or cross configuration. Trough covers have upstanding lips at opposite ends and drip hood flanges running along longitudinal margins which overlap flanges on the U-shaped trough. The tandem section covers include a reverse bend on one drip hood flange to interlock one margin of the cover with the trough. Adjacent trough ends are nestingly received by a connector and adjacent trough covers are overlapped by a connector cover at the juncture of adjacent cover sections. The connector cover includes a recess receiving the lips of adjacent covers and includes flanges in overlapping relationship with the drip hood flanges. One flange on the connector cover also includes a reverse bend to interlock with the associated drip hood flanges. Also provided is a generally U-shaped panel adapter and cover having opposite open ends, one of which includes outwardly directed flanges for sandwiching a gasket against a cabinet wall having an opening though which wires may extend from the wireway to the cabinet. A generally U-shaped closing plate having one open end and an opposite closed end is utilized to close a trough end.
