An anti-ram system according to embodiments of the invention may be erected or installed on a paved surface such as asphalt, concrete, paver stones, etc., or on an unpaved surface such as soil, and need not be partially of fully buried, and yet can qualify for Department of State crash ratings previously assigned to buried bollard systems. Disclosed anti-ram system also comprise a plurality of bollard sections and one or more connectors for interconnecting two or more of the bollard sections, and may also include an anchor or anchor system engaging at least each end of a bollard section not connected to another bollard section. The bollard sections may be filled with ballast and high friction structure may be attached to the bottom of the bollard sections to resist sliding after impact.

摘要: The invention disclosed herein provides a way to engage a used concentrate packet such as a tea bag in a drink container in which a liquid product was made from the concentrate without removing the packet from the container and without having to directly contact the packet. Thus, one need not wet his or her fingers or anything in the area of the container, and the used packet when engaged will not interfere with drinking of the liquid product. The packet is also isolated from the interior of the drink container to inhibit further infusion or dissolving of any concentrate remaining in the packet, thereby to control the strength or concentration of the liquid product without having to remove the packet from the container. In the preferred embodiment the holder defines a compartment into which the used packet may be moved to isolate the packet from the interior of the drink container so as to inhibit further concentrating the liquid product from any concentrate in the packet. The compartment has a first opening thereto in the container and the flexible element passes through the opening so that movement of the flexible element towards the holder draws the packet into the compartment. The compartment is sized to allow the packet enter the compartment through the opening and be engaged in the compartment. Preferably, the compartment is sized such that the packet is squeezed when moved from the drink container into the compartment causing liquid in the packet to be squeezed therefrom. The compartment has a second opening which is sized to permit the flexible element but not the packet to pass therethrough. When the flexible element passes through the first opening and is accessible at the second opening, the flexible element may be grasped and used to move the packet into the compartment through the first opening. This may be done with a cover engaged with a disposable container. The concentrate is provided pre-measured in a packet to make a single serving or dosage, or defined multi-servings or dosages, and the packet may be provided with an easily removable protective jacket.

摘要: A sealing device automatically seals a gap between a door bottom and a floor in response to closing movement of the door. The sealing device includes a support element attachable to the door bottom, a seal actuating element movably supported from the support element by spring elements, and a sealing element carried by the seal actuating element. The sealing device may be mounted to the inside or outside of a door, or mortise-mounted in the door, and may be mounted to left- or right-opening hinged doors, or to sliding or articulated closures, and may be provided as an after market or OEM device. The spring elements in the preferred embodiment are one-piece and are integrally connected to both the support element and the seal actuating element, thereby forming a one-piece sealing device preferably made of plastic. In embodiments where lateral movement of the seal actuating element is required to seal the gap, a projection on the seal actuating element is engaged by a door jamb surface or an element attached thereto during door opening and closing. A cover for the device is attached without fasteners e.g., by snap-fitting or slide fitting, and may act as a kick plate, and may be decorative. The length of the sealing device may be easily reduced or expanded to fit various size doors. The invention also provides a device which holds the seal actuating element a predetermined distance from the support element during installation of the device on the door to facilitate installation.

摘要: An automatically-actuated sealing device is disclosed which seals a gap between a door bottom (or edge) and a surface defining part of an opening through which weather, dust, insects, etc. may otherwise pass. The sealing device includes a support element attachable to the door bottom, a seal actuating element movably supported by the support element, a sealing element moved by the seal actuating element into a sealing position, and a plurality of metal, plastic or metal and plastic spring elements which couple the seal actuating element to the support element and urge the seal actuating element to seal the gap. The sealing devices operate by coupling the device to the opening defining surface so that opening and closing of the door generates movement of the seal actuating element. A projection on the seal actuating element is engaged by the door jamb or a bearing element attached to the jamb, and is laterally moved in response to opening and closing the door. In another embodiment, spring elements direct movement of the seal actuating member without lateral movement using a cord attached to the seal actuating element and the opening defining surface. The sealing device may be mounted to either side of or in an edge (mortise-mounted) of the door, and to both right and left-opening doors. A one-piece cover with end caps covers the sealing device. The support element is attached to the door using a few screws; everything else, including the cover and end caps, is attached without fasteners.
