An endoscopic capsule adapted for selective attachment to the distal end portion of an endoscopic device. The capsule is designed for insertion with an interconnected endoscopic device into a patient body to provide an open space in front of the distal end of the endoscopic device. The capsule facilitates the performance of endoscopic procedures providing a space in which to manipulate medical instruments within the patient body as well as improving a surgeon's field of vision within the patient body. In one embodiment, the capsule includes a housing having an internal chamber and two apertures. A first aperture is interconnectable to the end of an endoscopic device and provides operative access to endoscopic instruments contained therein. One or more of these endoscopic devices are advanceable into the internal cavity for selectively engaging patient tissue disposed relative to the second aperture.

This abutting can occur even when adjacent elements are rotated or twisted out of a common plane. Connection portions include direct formed engagements with knuckles of the other elements. These connection portions and the engaged knuckles can include headed pintles, axles, or oppositely facing conical protrusions, and may be configured to permit the non-textile fabric to bend on itself within its own thickness without undue strain on the connection features.

An improved percutaneous tissue grasping apparatus and method provide for reduced trauma to tissue associated with the insertion and advancement of the apparatus. In one aspect, the percutaneous tissue grasping apparatus may include a blunt nose that is flush with or extends beyond a distal end of an outer tubular member. As such, when advanced into and through tissue, tissue is prevented from advancing proximally into the outer member. As such, the trauma attendant with advancement of such apparatus into tissue of a patent may be reduced.

The invention relates to an apparatus for making hard sided luggage shells and other containers by vacuum forming or pressure forming thermoplastics. An apparatus for making shells and containers with integrally molded frames is disclosed. An apparatus for manufacturing differential pressure formed containers with framed openings, without the need for later attachment of a separate frame element to the molded shell. An apparatus also is disclosed for reducing the undesirable stretching of shell material that occurs during differential pressure forming, particularly the thinning of corner portions of the shell or container. The apparatus of the invention more efficiently utilizes the thermoplastic material by moving material from otherwise offal portions into the molded product. An improved device for severing the offal material from the final product is disclosed.

An electrosurgical instrument may include one or more light emitters that comprise a light source in operative communication with a power supply supportably interconnected to a handle portion. The instrument may have a toggle member with one or more selectable positions that may selectively activate any of one or more operational states of an electrosurgical electrode comprising the instrument. The toggle member may selectively activate the light emitter(s) provided on the instrument alone and/or in conjunction with the activation of one or more operational state. The handle portion may include an elastomeric handle portion that extends continuously along the handle portion and over the toggle member to seal the handle portion.
