摘要： A fiber spreader is provided which reduces fiber damage that occurs duringpreading. The fiber spreader includes a thin electrically grounded support sheet for supporting a layer of fibers on one surface thereof. The fibers supported on the support sheet are guided by a plurality of guide rollers past at least one corona discharge region at which the fibers are spread substantially uniformly. A motor driven spool advances the support sheet past the corona discharge region. The fibers are attached to the support sheet by an electrostatic attraction. The guide rollers are positioned so as to provide at least one region in which the sheet and the fibers are physically separated to allow for the uniform spreading of the fibers. After the fibers are spread, the fibers and the support sheet are united again and collected on a motor-driven spool.

摘要： A bicycle trailer hitch assembly including first and second complementary hitch bracket members adapted and arranged for attachment to opposites sides of the bicycle frame rear wheel drop out. Each bracket member includes a main body portion configured on one side for abutting relation with the bicycle rear wheel drop out and on the other side for receiving the trailer tongue tube to provide center pulling of the trailer. The bicycle quick release skewer which holds the rear wheel clamped to the drop out member likewise secures both brackets to the drop out member. Each of the brackets has a fastener arrangement for enabling securing the bracket to the trailer drawbar.

摘要： An nstrumented thoracic model for measuring the effects of impacts is provided. The model has simulated skeletal components, simulated tissue, simulated internal organs, and sensors that are optimally placed in the simulated tissue and organs, said simulated organs and said simulated skeletal components. Simulated human tissue is made of a modified ballistic gelatin, comprising ordinance gelatin, chilled water and an antimicrobial agent in a desired volume or weight percentage. The resulting mixture is then poured into a container or mold having the desired tissue shape, and then chilled until the mixture has set. Simulated lung tissue is made of the modified ballistic gelatin, but also incorporates nicrospheres to approximate the density and modality of the lungs. The sensors of the thoracic model are optimally placed using primary component analysis

摘要： A seat for a collapsible jogging stroller, or the like, that does not require removal prior to collapsing of the stroller. A bar member, unattached to the stroller frame, is located at the juncture of the seating and leg rest portions of the seat and extends transversely across the seat to provide lateral support to the seat. Being unattached to the frame of the stroller the bar member does not impede or obstruct collapsing of the stroller. The seat is formed of a one-piece flexible cloth-like material that is simple and inexpensive to manufacture.

摘要： A bicycle brake shoe assembly including multiple brake pads of different braking compounds replaceably inserted sequentially into a truncated pad holder. The pads have an overlap at one end and an under-lap at the other end such that upon assembly within the holder an overlap portion is mated over an under-lap portion. The pads are captured and retained in place in the truncated holder by a removable end cap. The overlap/under-lap pad mating cooperates with the pad holder and end cap to prevent pad pull out because of wheel rim movement forces on the pads. The brake shoe assembly has a transverse curvature substantially in conformance with the radius of curvature of the bicycle wheel rim, thereby improving pad contact with the wheel rim.
