Abstract: An apparatus for humidifying a flow of breathable gas includes a water reservoir and a water reservoir dock forming a cavity structured and arranged to receive the water reservoir in an operative position. The water reservoir comprises a reservoir base including a cavity structured to hold a volume of water, the reservoir base including a main body and a thermally conductive portion provided to the main body. The thermally conductive portion comprises a combined layered arrangement including a metal plate and a thin film, the thin film comprising a non-metallic material and including a wall thickness of less than about 1 mm. The thin film is adapted to form at least a bottom interior surface of the water reservoir exposed to the volume of water, and the metal plate is adapted to form a bottom exterior surface of the water reservoir.

Abstract: A water reservoir for an apparatus for humidifying a flow of breathable gas includes a reservoir body forming a cavity structured to hold a volume of liquid. The reservoir body comprises a conductive portion. The conductive portion comprises a thermally conductive material and is adapted to thermally engage with a heater plate to allow thermal transfer of heat to the liquid. The conductive portion includes a peripheral interfacing portion structured and arranged to connect the conductive portion to one or more walls of the reservoir body. The peripheral interfacing portion includes an intermediate portion and an end portion. The end portion is bent so as to be at least inclined with respect to the intermediate portion to reduce a risk of leakage caused by cracks within a critical area of a thickness of the one or more walls due to a presence of a sharp edge at the end portion.

Abstract: A humidifier comprises a water reservoir and a reservoir dock configured to receive the water reservoir in an operative position. The water reservoir is configured to hold a volume of liquid. The water reservoir includes a chamber and a single conduit providing an inner opening arranged within the chamber. The reservoir dock includes a dock inlet conduit arranged to receive the flow of air from the RPT device. The dock inlet conduit is structured and arranged to extend within the single conduit of the water reservoir when the water reservoir reaches the operative position such that the dock inlet conduit and the single conduit at least partially overlap one another. The dock inlet conduit includes an inner opening arranged adjacent the inner opening of the single conduit when the water reservoir reaches the operative position, the inner openings of the dock inlet conduit and the single conduit arranged to provide an inlet for the flow of air into the chamber and an outlet for delivering a humidified flow of air from the chamber.

Abstract: A water reservoir for use with a medical treatment apparatus includes a reservoir base including a cavity structured to hold a volume of water to humidify a supply of pressurized breathable air. The reservoir base includes a heat conductive portion, wherein the heat conductive portion is configured to thermally engage with a heating assembly of a water reservoir dock associated with the medical treatment apparatus to allow thermal transfer of heat from the heating assembly to the heat conductive portion. The water reservoir includes at least one protrusion that protrudes outwardly from a side of the reservoir base, wherein the at least one protrusion is configured to be fully inserted into at least one slot on a side of the water reservoir dock, and wherein the at least one protrusion only extends partially along the side of the reservoir base.
