A method of operation of an electronic device system includes: detecting a drag performed on a touch screen, the drag having a starting point and an ending point; detecting a stretchable cursor extendable based on the drag, the stretchable cursor having a cursor length, a cursor direction, a starting portion, and an ending portion at the ending point and larger than the starting portion at the starting point; displaying the stretchable cursor on the touch screen; and performing a process routine based on the cursor length and the cursor direction, the process routine continued after the stretchable cursor is pasted with the drag performed on the touch screen.

An information display device includes: an image display unit that displays a plurality of images in a spiral manner according to a predetermined order; an operation information input, unit that, inputs operation information for the plurality of images; and a display processing unit that displays the plurality of images on the image display unit such that, in accordance with movement angle information and angular velocity information obtained from the operation information, the plurality of images are moved in a generally circumferential direction of a spiral formed of the plurality of images. Thus, the spirally arranged images are moved in the generally circumferential direction of the spiral, in accordance with the movement angle information and the angular velocity information obtained from the operation information. Therefore, compared to a case where an up-down-left-right key or the like is used, a particular one of the images can be selected through intuitive operation.

The present invention provides an information processing apparatus capable of displaying a plurality of elements at a display unit by being superimposed and selecting an arbitrary element rapidly and easily among the plurality of elements by the user and an information processing method. The information processing apparatus includes an input reception unit to which signals are input from a first operation unit and a second operation unit, and a display control unit by which a plurality of first elements and a plurality of second elements are displayed by being superimposed. The first elements are arranged to be selectable or movable in accordance with the input of the first operation unit on a virtual first layer and the second elements are arranged to be selectable or movable in accordance with the input of the second operation unit on a virtual second layer which differs from the first layer.

An apparatus, method and computer program product cooperate to prepare frame information that causes a frame to be displayed on a display unit at an operation target position that is an offset of a predetermined distance on said display from an operation detection position. The frame information is then sent to the display unit for displaying the frame. A recognition unit detects the operation detection position in response to a contact made with the display. The display may be a touch panel or a proximity detection display, and the frame has a shape with an interior portion, a border portion and an exterior portion.
