Abstract:
Carriage (10) attachable to a prime mover (41) for travel over turf or grass wherein the carriage (10) has idler rollers (12, 13 and 14) and a ground aeration mechanism in the form of a support axle (15) having a plurality of slicer blades (16) attached thereto. There is also provided a housing (11) having a hollow interior (33) which houses rollers (12, 13 and 14) and ground aeration mechanism (15 and 16). In use, when carriage (10) travels over turf or grass, both rollers (12, 13 and 14) and the ground aeration mechanism (15 and 16) operate simultaneously to not only roll the grass but also slice it for the purpose of facilitating moisture penetration.
Abstract:
An idler roller assembly having a roller tube which has a constant diameter throughout its length and does not have machined ends or ends formed with integrally formed flanges. An end cap is attached to each end of the roller tube which has a hollow internal bore and an outer seal insert retained within the hollow internal bore of the end cap and having an internal recess and adapted for rotation with the roller tube and end cap. A stationary inner seal is located in the recess and having a flexible lip. Also included is a bearing retained within the internal bore of the end cap as well as a stationary shaft extending through a hollow interior of the roller tube wherein the inner seal is fixed to the stationary shaft. There is also provided an inner fastening member retaining the bearing in position within the end cap.
Abstract:
Rolling apparatus for rolling of turf or grass surfaces is provided which includes a mobile main frame (11) and at least three undercarriages (61, 62, 63) attached to the main frame (11). Each undercarriage has one or more smoothing rollers (64) in the form of idler rollers; there is further provided a control frame for each of the undercarriages (61, 62, 63) pivotally mounted to each undercarriage with one (63) of the at least three undercarriages located rearwardly or forwardly of the other two (61, 62) undercarriages in a direction of travel of the rolling apparatus. In the direction of travel, each undercarriage is located adjacent to each other presenting substantially no gaps in a front view between adjoining undercarriages or smoothing rollers attached to the undercarriages.
Abstract:
Rolling apparatus for rolling of turf or grass surfaces including a mobile main frame (11) and one or more undercarriages (45, 46) attached to the main frame (11) wherein the or each undercarriage has one or more smoothing rollers (45A, 46A) and there is further provided a control (62) pivotally attached to the main frame (11) wherein the or each undercarriage is pivotally attached to the control such that, in use, the or each smoothing roller closely follows ground contours.
Abstract:
A roller assembly including: a frame; a first undercarriage connected to the frame, the first undercarriage comprising: a first body; a rear roller connected to the first body; and a first overlapping roller that is elongate and connected to the first body; and a second undercarriage connected to the frame, the second undercarriage comprising: a second body; a front roller connected to the second body; and a second overlapping roller that is elongate and connected to the second body, wherein the first undercarriage is positioned adjacent to the second undercarriage such that the first overlapping roller overlaps the second overlapping roller.
Abstract:
A roller cleaning assembly for a grass processing apparatus, such as a grass or turf roller, has a roller housing releasably mountable in a hollow cavity in the body of a smoothing head, where the smoothing head contains idler or smoothing rollers. A pair of roller brushes is rotatably journalled in the roller housing, and are driven by the idler or smoothing rollers via friction drive rollers. Each brush roller has at least one spiral brush and/or spiral wiper blade to clean the external surfaces of the adjacent idler or smoothing rollers and deposits the clippings or other waste in collector sections in the roller housing.

Abstract:
There is provided a trailer (65) having a trailer frame (68) supported by ground engaging wheels (84). A pivot frame (69) is pivotally attached to the trailer frame (68) by pivot attachment means (72). The pivot frame (69) is attachable to maintenance apparatus such as a mower (100) in use. There is also provided connection means such as a drawbar (70) to a prime mover.
Abstract:
A roller assembly adapted to follow ground contours during operation which includes a pair of roller components each having respective inner ends connected to each other by a flexible and movable primary coupling and having their respective outer ends connected to a support shaft which extends through a hollow interior of each roller component by a secondary coupling.
