摘要： An etching solution application device for use with offset printing machines of the type wherein master plates are fed automatically to the master cylinder and comprising an etching solution applying roller mounted for rotary motion and adapted to be brought into and out of pressing contact with the master cylinder in synchronism with the automatic mounting of the master plate on the master cylinder to apply the etching solution to the surface of the master plate. The etching solution application device is rendered inoperative and locked automatically as the applying roller is released from engagement with the master plate upon completion of the etching solution application operation.

摘要： An automated offset lithographic duplicating machine permits to automatically mount a master or lithographic plate on a master cylinder, to apply ink repellent etching solution to the mounted master or lithographic plate in a time predetermined by the operator, and to perform a number of sequential duplicating steps of a duplicating cycle. The washing of a blanket cylinder, constituting the final step of the duplicating cycle of a lithographic plate, is performed in a time predetermined by the operator before the cylinder automatically stops. The number of copies to be duplicated for each lithographic plate is indicated by an indicator after marks on the lithographic plate, for indicating the number of copies to be duplicated, are read by a device provided in the machine. When the number of copies indicated by the indicator has been duplicated, washing of the blanket cylinder is automatically initiated.

摘要： A printed copy sheet number read-out device adapted for use with an offset printing machine which permits one master plate after another to be automatically mounted on its master cylinder. Each master plate to be duplicated by this machine is provided in one marginal portion thereof with a plurality of sets of timing marks each set representing the column of the number of copy sheets to be printed and data marks each being provided for one set of timing marks and placed above one timing mark of each set which represents the particular numeral in each column. When one of such master plates is mounted on the master cylinder, the marks are automatically read by read-out means provided in the printing machine and duplication of the particular master plate is automatically terminated when a predetermined number of copy sheets have been printed.
