Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus receives a request to receive a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (MBMS) service associated with a service area identity (SAI) and a second frequency. The apparatus performs inter-frequency cell reselection from a first cell transmitting at a first frequency to a second cell transmitting at the second frequency, the second cell being an inter-frequency neighbor cell to the first cell. The apparatus receives system information from the second cell. The apparatus determines that the second cell transmitting at the second frequency is unassociated with the SAI based on the received system information. The apparatus blacklists the SAI on the second frequency in a blacklist for at least a period of time upon determining that the second cell is unassociated with the SAI.

Multiple reference signal occasions may occur during an inactive period of a discontinuous reception cycle configured for a wireless device. An amount of time the UE will be awake during the discontinuous reception cycle if the UE wakes up during a reference signal occasion of the multiple reference signal occasions may be determined for each of the reference signal occasions. The UE may wake up during the reference signal occasion associated with the shortest amount of awake time relative to the other reference signal occasions.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described to support entering a fast-negative acknowledgement (NACK) mode. A user equipment (UE) may enter a fast-NACK mode and may decrease a value of a respective timer for one or more wireless connections (e.g., may override the timer independently for each connection). The timer may be referred to as a retransmission request time duration. If configured with two or more component carriers (CCs), the UE may determine a value of the timer based on a location of a data hole within the two or more CCs. Based on entering the fast-NACK mode, the UE may override a configured timer for the respective wireless connection with a new, shorter timer. Based on expiration of the new timer, the UE may transmit an RLC NACK to a base station via the corresponding wireless connection.
