Abstract: Method and apparatus are provided for updating unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) status in unmanned aircraft system (UAS) ecosystem. In accordance with some implementation, a UE may determine a change in flight state of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The UE upon such determination may communicating to an unmanned aerial system traffic management (UTM) the fight state via a wireless wide area network (WWAN). This may allow the UTM to more efficiently manage and allocate resources to UAVs.
