Abstract: Systems and methods for monitoring eye movement of a viewer may enable monitoring of a viewer's focus to enhance attention based media control. One example includes providing visual stimuli on a screen, monitoring a viewing focus of a viewer to determine if the viewing focus of the viewer is on the visual stimuli and may include stopping the visual stimuli when the viewing focus is determined to be other than on the visual stimuli. The method may also include resuming the visual stimuli when the viewing focus is determined to be on the visual stimuli.

Abstract: Motion-detection systems are often used to detect presence of humans. Such motion-detection systems are often based on passive infrared (PIR) sensors. Unfortunately, such detection systems are unable to reliably distinguish between humans and other entities such as animals and moving heat sources. To address this issue, it is proposed to detect a presence of real time clock (RTC) devices in addition to detecting the heat sources to better determine whether a detected entity is a human.

Abstract: Systems and methods are directed to discovering trusted remote devices and establishing trusted communications with trusted remote devices. A local device can determine one or more time periods of expected silence in a communication between the local device and a remote device; and embed trusted communication messages in the one or more time periods for at least one of: discovering that the remote device is a trusted remote device, performing a trusted communication with the trusted remote device. The communication may be based on a Bluetooth protocol in a link layer.
