Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for a base station and a user equipment (UE) to communicate using a number of layers that is preferred by the UE. The UE and the network may communicate using radio frequency (RF) resources according to a number of layers corresponding to a capability of the UE. The UE may detect a constraint on the RF resources. The UE may transmit information of a preferred number of layers that is preferred by the UE to the network in response to the detecting. The base station may schedule the UE to communicate based on the preferred number of layers that is preferred by the UE.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for coordinated tune away for multiple subscriber identity module (SIM) devices. A method by a user equipment includes communicating with a first base station (BS) of a first radio access network (RAN) in a connected mode using a first subscription associated with a first SIM of the UE, wherein the UE: includes a second subscription associated with a second SIM for communicating with a second BS of a second RAN, and operates in an idle mode associated with the second subscription while communicating using the first subscription; determining a tune away associated with the first RAN will occur to allow the UE to perform one or more first actions associated with the second subscription; and transmitting information to the first BS indicating the tune away and a request to suspend one or more second actions associated with the first subscription.

The UE identifies one or more base-band resource outage periods associated with the first subscription based on a utilization of at least partially shared base-band resources by the second subscription. The UE also transmits one or more medium access control (MAC) control elements (MAC-CEs) to a base station requesting a modification of one or more data transmission timing parameters of one or more data elements associated with the first subscription based on the one or more base-band resource outage periods associated with the first subscription.

Abstract: A method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving a configuration for dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS) operation where a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second RAT share spectrum. The configuration includes channel parameters associated with the first RAT. The method includes determining, based on the configuration, a first set of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) that will not be transmitted via the second RAT and a second set of SSBs that will be transmitted via the second RAT. The method further includes refraining from performing a cell search on the first set of SSBs that was determined to not be transmitted via the second RAT. Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide a technique for signaling user equipment (UE) assistance information (UAI) indicating a preferred set of connected discontinuous reception (CDRX) parameters, a start offset, and/or a slot offset to a network entity. For example, a UE signals the UAI when operating in a dual connectivity mode involving a new radio (NR) and a long term evolution (LTE). The UE signals the UAI via a new information element (IE). In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) detects a collision between a duration in time domain configured to receive downlink data for a dedicated data subscription (DDS) subscription of the MSIM UE and a first paging occasion configured to receive a paging message for a non-DDS (n-DDS) subscription of the MSIM UE. The UE may then monitor a second paging occasion different from the first paging occasion for the paging message, the second paging occasion configured to avoid collision with the duration in time domain.
