Abstract:
The electrical stimulation belt includes an electrical stimulator, a flexible substrate, a plurality of electrical connectors, a plurality of electrodes and a plurality of locators. The electrical stimulation is applied to the trunk or waist of a patient by the electrical stimulator belt through the placement of the plurality of electrical connectors in contact with the plurality of electrodes on the belt. A plurality of locators releasably fastened to the belt assist the user in locating the electrodes on the belt.
Abstract:
A device promotes triple flexion of the hip, knee and ankle. The device includes a belt, knee cuff, ankle wrap, foot wrap and two pairs of adjustable bands. The device is configured to promote triple flexion in the hip, knee and ankle of the user during the swing phase of walking when the user has the belt wrapped around the user's waist, the knee cuff wrapped around the user's knee, the ankle wrap wrapped around the user's ankle and the foot wrap wrapped around the user's foot.
Abstract:
A wearable neuromuscular stimulation and neuroprosthetic system and device for treating spinal cord injury, stroke, and other neurological conditions; and for the management of chronic pain. This invention provides a system for transcutaneous neuromuscular stimulation and typically comprises a wearable item that further includes a flexible, non-conductive material; at least one flexible, generally flat electrode attachable to or embedded within the wearable item; and a programmable electrical stimulation device connectable to the electrode(s). Each electrode typically includes a silver-impregnated or silver-treated material.
Abstract:
A system for stimulating muscles and increasing blood flow in one or more specific body parts is provided. This system includes at least one electrode adapted to be placed circumferentially around a body part, wherein the at least one electrode is operative to deliver electrical impulses sufficient to induce muscle contractions in the body part; at least one stimulation module in electrical communication with the at least one electrode, wherein the at least one stimulation module is operative to provide electrical impulses to the at least one electrode; and a control module in electrical communication with the at least one stimulation module, wherein the at least one control module is operative to control the characteristics of the electrical impulses.
