Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for allowing the sharing of social relationships collections including the step of creating a social relationship collection object for a first user that provides access to at least one individual with whom they have a social relationship and allowing a second user to retrieve the social relationship collection object. As a result of allowing said second user to retrieve the social relationship collection object, the second user inspects a reference contained in the first user's social relationship collection object.
Abstract:
Methods of detecting, and providing a notification of, the existence of misinformation using usage patterns of a network service enable an organization to respond to the misinformation. The method includes establishing common usage patterns of the network service, identifying an irregular usage pattern, determining that the irregular usage pattern was caused by misinformation, and responding to the misinformation.
Abstract:
A system and method for obtaining a process definition; determining the current process; determining the current process step; determining whether a whether a user has requested creation or modification of an annotation of the current process or step; receiving information from the user for creating the annotation when a user has requested creation of an annotation; and displaying the annotation.
Abstract:
An Agenda-Driven Meeting (ADM) allows a distributed set of users to have an online, not necessarily synchronous meeting including an agenda which specifies both the topics or goals of the meeting's phases, as well as the interrelationship between the phases, including the order of execution. The system provides a graphical representation, which shows the status of each phase—including indicators of user participation—as well as the relationship between the phases. Input can include text comments; queries, potentially directed to one or more users; responses to these queries; task assignments, also potentially directed to one or more users; summaries of phases; and indicators of users interest in a given query or response. The ADM graphic representation reflects each of the elements including the particular phase to which a given element is related. The system allows a given user to replay a given ADM instance, even after the meeting has been completed. A service is also provided enabling a service organization to facilitate the use of Agenda-Driven Meetings by a customer organization.
Abstract:
According to an embodiment of the invention, a method includes steps of deriving a process-based resource adjustment model for the process; monitoring the process for the number of users using each of steps of the process at time t0; calculating the number of users that will using each of the process steps at time t1, which is later than time t0; determining the resources required to serve the process at time t1; and adjusting the resources as appropriate to ensure adequate capacity, this adjustment completed by time t1. Other embodiments include a computer program product and an information processing system configure for performing the process.
Abstract:
A system and method for conducting on-line meetings that includes functionality for scheduling and calendaring on-line meetings or events. The system functionality for scheduling and calendaring on-line meetings or events includes enhanced functions for specifying actions to be performed at the time of the meeting and rendering the nature of such actions contingent upon the members attending a scheduled meeting.
Abstract:
A method (and structure) of providing a composite data feed for an online meeting includes at least one of providing a capability for at least one participant node in the online meeting to input a layout rule for a customized composite image of the online meeting and receiving a layout rule defining a composite image of the online meeting that can be customized for at least one participant node in the online meeting.
Abstract:
A fault current limiter comprising: an input node; an output node; a variable impedance element coupled between the input node and the output node; a closed loop cryocooler circuit, comprising a first cryocooler for cooling the variable impedance element and a second cryocooler, thermally coupled to the first cryocooler, for cooling the first coolant, wherein the variable impedance element comprises Magnesium Diboride.
Abstract:
A method of searching a collection of data that includes specifying a compound query having two or more search parameters; identifying data objects in the collection that match the search parameters; and providing results that include both an identification of matching data objects and an extent to which the objects match respective ones of the search parameters. The extent of match is shown by graphical bars having elongated segments of a unique color associated with each search parameter so that the user may visually appreciate the relevance of respective parameters in the compound query. A client device communicating with a server, receives an applet to effect the user interface. Each search parameter has an associated unique color and the user may specify a range of relevance desired in the results by altering the strength of any one of the search parameters. A computer-readable medium embodying program code and a corresponding apparatus are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A system and method for conducting an online multi-speaker presentation comprises the implementation of a presentation agenda that specifies a plurality of phases, each phase having a speaker for presenting in a pre-specified order; and the agenda including policies for coordinating data feeds to one or more client devices according to an activated phase. Data feeds for audio, video, audio-visual or non-speaker data sources are provided to one or more clients and activated in accordance with an agenda phase policy, the data feeds being triggered automatically upon new phase activation. Thus, many users of the on-line meeting participate according to feed policies specified by said agenda without users at the client devices having to explicitly select or coordinate the feed controls during the presentation.
