Abstract: The projection image display apparatus includes a display element that emits image light generated by modulating light from a light source based, a pixel-shifter that shifts a pixel of a projected image by changing an optical path of the image light, a resampling circuit, a motion-interpolation image processing circuit, and a pixel-shift controller. The resampling circuit generates a plurality of sub-frame image signals having a resolution of the display element, by resampling an image signal having a resolution of the projected image. The motion-interpolation image processing circuit provides a motion-interpolation image process to the sub-frame image signals. The pixel-shift controller receives the sub-frame image signals having undergone the motion-interpolation image process. The pixel-shift controller drives the display element and the pixel shifter at a given timing based on the sub-frame image having undergone the motion-interpolation image process, and then displays the projected image, which involves pixel-shift, on a screen.

Abstract: A content generation method generates image content to be projected at a projection position in a real space by a projector. In a first acquisition process, space information regarding a virtual space corresponding to the real space is acquired. In a second acquisition process, display position information regarding a display position corresponding to the projection position in the virtual space is acquired. In a third acquisition process, reference position information regarding a reference position in the virtual space is acquired. In a generation process, an image including an object viewed from the reference position when the object is displayed at the display position in the virtual space is generated as the image content, based on the space information, the reference position information, and the display position information.

Abstract: The optical path changing device of the present disclosure includes an optical member having a parallel plate face for changing an optical path, and first, second, and third actuators. The first, the second, and the third actuators are connected with the optical member at first, second, and third vertices of a triangle imaginarily drawn on a plane parallel to the parallel plate face of the optical member. The first, the second, and the third actuators drive the optical member forward and backward in a normal direction of the parallel plate face at the first, the second, and the third vertices serving as points of load. The optical member has a center of gravity within the triangle when seen from the normal direction.

Abstract: A projection-type image display apparatus includes a light source unit, an image generating unit that generates image light according to an input video signal, a light-guide optical system that guides the light from the light source unit to the image generating unit, a projection optical system that projects the image light generated by the image generating unit, and a controller. The controller has a display mode in which the image light is projected and an illumination mode in which the light from the light source unit is emitted as illumination light. The controller controls the optical system to focus illumination light from the projection optical system on a projection surface, in the display mode, and to focus illumination light from the projection optical system at a position different from the projection screen, in the illumination mode.

Abstract: A projector in an installation information acquisition method is installed in a real space, has a changeable projection direction, and projects a projection image based on a virtual image. The virtual image is an image in a case where an image arranged at a display position in a virtual space is viewed from a virtual installation position. The method includes first acquisition processing for acquiring positional information of three or more first adjustment points in the virtual space, projection processing for projecting, by the projector, an index image onto the real space, second acquisition processing for acquiring angle information of the projection direction with respect to a reference direction in a state where the index image matches three or more second adjustment points respectively corresponding to the three or more first adjustment points, and third acquisition processing for acquiring installation information based on the positional information and the angle information.

Abstract: A projection video display that projects video image suppresses deterioration of its quality which is attributed to a change in an optical path of the video image. A video signal generator performs control such that a second subframe in an N-th frame in a left-eye image is displayed on DMDs and then a second subframe in an N-th frame in a right-eye image is displayed on the DMDs. Furthermore, the video signal generator performs control such that a displayed location is not changed on a screen and the same types of subframes are displayed at the time when frames are switched.
