Abstract: This battery comprises an electrode body, an outer package, an opening sealing element, and an auxiliary electrode. The auxiliary electrode has: a first joint part that is welded to an outer circumferential surface of a cylindrical part of the outer package; a plate-like first upward extension part that extends from the first joint part toward the side of an open end of the outer package; and a plate-like external connection part that extends from the first upward extension part in a direction different from that of the first upward extension part so as to be connected to another conductor member. The cylindrical part has a groove in which an outer circumferential surface is indented in such a manner as to make an inner circumferential surface protrude.

Abstract: In a battery module, a plurality of unit batteries in which positive electrode terminals and negative electrode terminals are arranged at one-side ends are arranged in a staggered pattern while the one-side ends are arrayed on the same side, n pieces of battery blocks in which m pieces of the unit batteries adjacent to one another are connected in parallel to one another are connected in series to one another, two or more rows in which the unit batteries are arranged in a direction perpendicular to a series current direction are present on one battery block, the number of the unit batteries in each row is less than or equal to (m−1), an electrically insulating plate is arranged above the one-side ends of the plurality of arrayed unit batteries, the plate is provided with holes from which the positive electrode terminals and the negative electrode terminals of the respective unit batteries are exposed, and is provided with a plurality of conductive members on a surface opposite to a surface facing the unit batteries, and the conductive members extend along the rows in which the unit batteries in the battery blocks are arrayed, two conductive members are arranged with respect to one battery block, and the conductive members are provided with terminal connecting portions connected through the holes to the same-polarity terminals of the respective unit batteries included in one battery block.

Abstract: A battery module includes: a battery stack; a restraint member on one side that restrains one side, in a Y direction, of the battery stack and includes a coolant passage on one side through which coolant flows; a restraint member on the other side that restrains the other side, in the Y direction, of the battery stack and includes a coolant passage on the other side through which coolant flows; an end plate on one side that restrains one side, in an X direction, of the battery stack; and an end plate on the other side that restrains the other side, in the X direction, of the battery stack. At least one of the end plates on the sides, includes a coolant passage on end side through which coolant passes, and the coolant passage on the end side communicates with the coolant passages on the sides.

Abstract: A battery module, including: a plurality of lithium secondary batteries aligned side by side; and a heat absorbing material disposed in contact with side surfaces of the plurality of lithium secondary batteries, wherein the lithium secondary battery includes an electrode plate group, a non-aqueous electrolyte having lithium ion conductivity, and a battery case housing the electrode plate group and the non-aqueous electrolyte, the electrode plate group includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separator interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and at the negative electrode, a lithium metal deposits during charge and the lithium metal dissolves during discharge. This can suppress the increase in battery temperature in the event of abnormality.

The first battery module includes: a battery stack that includes rectangular batteries, stacked in a row in a thickness direction; a restraint member on one side that restrains one side, in a Y direction, of the battery stack; a restraint member on the other side that restrains the other side, in the Y direction, of the battery stack; an end plate on one side that restrains one side, in an X direction, of the battery stack; and an end plate on the other side that restrains the other side, in the X direction, of the battery stack. A linking unit links the end plate on one side of the first battery module to the end plate on the other side of the second battery module.
