Abstract: A station apparatus includes a receiver and a controller. The receiver, in operation, receives a Trigger frame allocating Random Access Resource Units (RA-RUs) over multiple bands. The Trigger frame includes a User Info field that comprises a Band Indication subfield for specifying a first band among the multiple bands, an RU Allocation subfield for indicating a first RA-RU of one or more contiguous RA-RUs in the first band, and a Number of RA-RU subfield for indicating a number of the contiguous RA-RUs minus one in the first band. The controller, in operation: sets a first Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) random access backoff (OBO) counter to 0 if an initial value of the first OBO counter is not larger than a number of eligible RA-RUs in the first band, which is a subset of contiguous RA-RUs in the Trigger frame; and randomly selects one of the eligible RA-RUs.

Abstract: A transmitting method includes: configuring a frame using a plurality of orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols, by allocating a plurality of transmission data to a plurality of areas; and transmitting the frame. The plurality of areas are each identified by at least one time resource among resources and at least one frequency resource among frequency resources. The frame includes a first period in which a preamble is transmitted, and a second period in which the plurality of transmission data are transmitted by at least one of time division and frequency division. The second period includes a first area, and the first area includes a data symbol generated from first transmission data, a data symbol generated from second transmission data and subsequent to the data symbol generated from the first transmission data, and a dummy symbol subsequent to the data symbol generated from the second transmission data.

Abstract: The communication apparatus comprises a receiver which, in operation, receives a PHY layer Data Unit that includes a duration field; Physical (PHY) layer circuitry which, in operation, issues a PHY-CCA (clear channel assessment) primitive parameter indicating bandwidth information on a busy or idle state for each subchannel within an operating bandwidth; and Media Access Control (MAC) circuitry which, in operation, updates a Network Allocation Vector (NAV) value based on the duration information and, in operation, determines busy/idle state of at least one subchannel, wherein the MAC circuitry, in operation, controls transmission of the HE TB PHY layer Data Unit based on the updated NAV value and the busy/idle state of the at least one subchannel, and controls the PHY circuitry to have the HE TB PHY layer Data Unit transmitted when the at least one subchannel is considered idle, regardless of whether the primary subchannel is busy or not.
