Abstract: An image display device includes: an image display unit which includes a display panel switchable between an image display mode in which an image is displayed and a transmissive mode in which the display panel is in a transmissive state where an object behind the image display unit is visible in a front view of the display panel; a controller which controls an operation of the display panel; and a lower shelf board which is a holding member. The lower shelf board is disposed projecting rearward from a rear surface of the image display unit and holds the controller in a housed state.
