Abstract:
An optical disk includes a disk management information area in which predetermined information is recorded in advance, and a recording system area in which information for identifying a recording system of the optical disk recorded in a predetermined position within a non-data area included in a recordable area is recorded. A method for accessing the optical disk is decided based on disk management information and the information for identifying a recording system.

A track of an optical disk is formed by wobbling and divided into zones, a clock ratio of a recording clock to a wobble clock is preset for each zone, a wobble signal is detected from the optical disk, the wobble clock is generated from the wobble signal, a present position is identified by reproducing ADIP indicating a position of the track from the wobble signal and the wobble clock, the recording clock is generated with respect to the wobble clock, a data address present position is identified from the present position, a start end position of the ADIP in a recording target zone, a start end position of the data address in the recording target zone, and the clock ratio, a recording start position is identified based on the data address present position; and the data is recorded from the recording start position of the recording target zone.
Abstract:
There are provided an optical disk and an optical disk recording method which are capable of stable data reading in a case where a recording linear density is increased. According to an optical disk of the present disclosure, a run-in pattern recorded in a groove track and a run-in pattern recorded in a land track are made different patterns so that no great change is caused in the amplitude of an acquired signal due to interference between adjacent recording patterns, and thus, data may be stably read.
Abstract:
An information recording and playback device includes a recording and playback unit, and a controller. The controller divides a recording area of an optical disk into a first recording area which is at an inner circumference side, and a second recording area which is at an outer circumference side. The controller controls the recording and playback unit such that the unit records or plays back data in the first recording area at a first speed, and records or plays back data in the second recording area at a second speed slower than the first speed. The predetermined radius is set to a boundary between an area in which a control residual exceeds a predetermined reference value when servo control related to focusing and tracking is performed on the recording area of the optical disk, and an area in which the control residual does not exceed the predetermined reference value.
Abstract:
An optical disc medium includes a land and a groove at which information can be recorded. A predetermined number of address information units which record address information of the land or groove are provided in a circumferential direction of the optical disc medium. The address information unit of the land includes three or more address recording areas capable of recording address information. The address information is recorded on one area selected from among the three or more address recording areas. The address information unit of the land has address information which is recorded, in the same modulation, on the side of the inner adjacent groove and on the side of the outer adjacent groove. The one area to be selected from among the three or more address recording areas for recording the address information of the land is different among three address information units adjacently arranged in a radial direction.
Abstract:
An inspection method for a recordable optical disc includes focusing laser light on a recording layer and obtaining a data signal dependent on the laser light reflected by the recording layer. The inspection method also includes determining whether the optical disc includes a defect or not by identifying a first period every second period in the obtained data signal obtained, the first period being a period in which a signal level of the data signal is lower than a predetermined value, and each of the second periods corresponding to an ECC block, and outputting a result of the determination.

Abstract:
In an information recording device, when receiving an erase command by a receiver, a controller erases data of an erased area by overwriting data in an information area, to corrupt the data in the information area, using an erasing pattern. The erased area is specified by an erase start position and a size of the data to be erased on the optical disc. The data in the information area is arranged as partial data in a series of data arranged in a direction of internal parity of error correction so that correction is disabled in both of a correction processing by the internal parity of the error correction and a correction processing by external parity of the error correction when the data in the information area is overwritten using the erasing pattern.
Abstract:
According to an optical disc, a track, where data is recorded in predetermined block units, is formed by wobbling at a spatial period in accordance with a radial position, and the track is divided into zones in a radial direction. Data is recorded in each of the zones at a predetermined line density based on a ratio n/m of the number of bits of a bit pattern of recording data to one wavelength of wobbling. The optical disc includes a first area having one of the zones, a second area having one of the zones different from the one of the zones in the first area, and a line density of data different from a line density of data in the first area, and a BCA where a zone format identifier specifying a zone table defining a boundary position of each of the zones and the ratio n/m is recorded.
