Abstract: This invention is directed to the art of containing a fragile membrane tube of approximately 8 mils wall thickness by braiding in single or multiple layers such that working pressures of up to 2,000 psig can be utilized. The embodiment here described as an example relates to flexible braiding used as a membrane pressure support in the reverse osmosis method of fluid purification, separation and concentration. It is also applicable for ultrafiltration applications.
